my netbook is infected with virus and spyware, i had an antivirus but now it doesn’t work because of the virus, anyway i don’t want to use my netbook anymore i want to buy a laptop, so i don’t care about losing data, will a complete system restore remove all malware from my netbook?
SYSTEM RESTORE WILL NOT REMOVE A VIRUS.
The only way to completely remove your virus is to do a destructive reformat and reload windows. Anytime you get a virus the first place it heads is system restore. If you try to roll back all you are doing is reinfecting your machine. Reformat it and reload the OS.

whats the bother mine as well … just at least back up your files on an external hard drive and make sure that those files that you want to "backup" on your hard drive are "virus free"… i had a virus myself and it screwed up the start up … like when i log in… i get refresh its wierd so luckily i bought the computer at a store where i was able to get all my money back by returning it … lol i was lucky … so ya just back up your most important files and do a system restore… hope that helps
if you are talking about System Restore – Under Accessories-System Tools in the start menu then Sometimes it will.. i have found it to do the trick many times..
If it doesnt .u might have to restore ur pc to factory settings.. good luck

But in case if it does not happens then simply press ALT+DELETE+ENTER and click on Task manager..
After that restart your system in safe mode pressing F8 and then try installing AVG or McAfee premium Antivitus cum spyware security program and perform scanning of your system if possible then…
If it does not works then it is unfortunate to say that you need to format your system using boot able Windows CD since you did not care of loosing data..

Better listen to Lex, system restore has not ever been for virus removal, and is usually infected when a computer gets attacked. You only use system restore in a virus removal when you have deleted something by accident , but this will be using an infected restore point, but a working infected restore point is better then no restore point and having to reinstall the os!

Thing that can remove virus is kind of disk or partition restore, like Ghost or the like. But precondition is the backup you use to restore is clean itself.
