I pay a flat fee around 25 bucks a month for internet service. It includes McAfee Security Center but not Virus Removal.
Shouldn’t this be included for free as part of my service?
Seems like such a simple thing to do for their customers.

That’s not really all that much for the service. I pay more than twice that and I don’t even have free virus removal. This is how they make money. They only care about you because you’re paying them. Stop and I’m sure they won’t be too fond of you.

Maybe it is, but why would you trust your computer to them? That is like letting a stranger hold your purse. That probably isn’t a real problem, but with so many free antivirus programs out there, get a free one. filehippo.com has 2 or 3. Avast and AVG are my 2 favorites.

If your internet provider rhymes with "LAST", then their security center removes viruses.

  • Daze says:

Well times the cost of your virus removal times a million other people and…

well you see, not so cheap then.

Also, do you mean pre-existing viruses? Why would you expect a cable internet provider to clean your computer for you? Thats like expecting the guy who fixes your roof to also clean your kitchen. Apples and oranges.

u can remove viruses with macafee… i think if not then they are stuck up ppl tht want u to spend more money on simple stuff tht should be included

  • Jaz says:

Security center normally has anti-virus program, firewall and e-mail scanning
There’s lots of free online anti-virus programs mcafee sucks anyways, get over it and download something else or stop watching so much porn

Cable internet provides you the ability to get viruses… which you pay for. If you stop you wouldn’t have to worry about it.
My opinion is that they don’t really care about you that much, but these people do:

I don’t like McAfee anyway so I’ll give some antivirus alternatives like Avira Antivir Free or Avast! Home Edition
    Both free
Avira has a better detection rate but Avast has email scanning and boot time scanning

Important: You may only have one antivirus and one firewall

Antispyware does not conflict so you can have more than one
    Heres some free antispyware

Of course not – why would they?

It’s your responsibility to install a virus protection program, not your ISPs responsibility.

Your lucky you got the McAfee Security Center – most ISPs dont even include that – count your blessings.
