If you want to do an online scan, go to

which will perform a scan of your PC through your web browser and remove whatever it finds, as long as the items aren’t too deeply embedded.

You should also make sure you have a good software firewall, antivirus, and antispyware to help remove spyware and prevent further infection. These are tools I can recommend as reliable, having tested all of them within the last two months (I love my drive imaging software!)

Finally, a generic intrusion protection tool is a good supplement to the tools in the first three categories. The best one I’ve tested is System Safety Monitor Free edition (http://www.syssafety.com) which does a better job than most of the commercial intrusion prevention applications from major vendors.
