I have some free anti-viral software programs (Anti-Virus and Antivir) on my computer but for some reason, they aren’t doing the job.
Should I go out and buy McAfee or Norton’s? How much do these programs cost (I’m on a budget)?

hi there , u can go to cnet.com n look for those free wares but i still think free is better cause i have the option to choose which is the best …my recommendation is avira anti virus , avg …
Avast is a good anti-virus
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html [Free home edition]
Avira is also a good anti-virus

Windows Defender is recommended in addition for real-time spy-ware protection.

Remember to only have one anti-virus installed on your PC
I hope that you do not have more than one anti virus on your computer.
You say that you have Anit-Virus and Antivir.

when you go to download.com you can read that Antivir is not a very good anti virus program
Definitely do no buy Norton or McAfee.
When you want to protect your pc and willing to spend some money, do not get an anti virus progra.. You need also a Firewall, anti spyware etc.
When you get your self an internet security program, you have
anti virus, anti spyware, firewall, email protection and much more.
I have used several different onces, but like Zone Alarm Security Suite as best.

Ok, it cost you $50,00 but then you have the best possible protection for your expensive computer.
I did buy 2 programs the rest is free ware.
I did buy Zone Alarm Security Suite 2008
