I’m trying to find a software to clean my computer without erasing important or vital information the computer needs to function. I have tried some of the so called free dowloads but they just scan & tell you that you have so many infections I would like to find one that actually would get rid of the infections & let you see if your computer actually works better afterward. That would be the true test to see if you’d like to buy a product or not.
What is it?

What to do about it?
A virus scanner is the most common tool for prevention. These scanners have “real-time protection” enabled; which scans the program before it runs and if the program has malicious code than it is stopped before the chance of execution. Common sense is another big factor in determining whether or not malware gets into your computer. If an executable computer program is attached to your e-mail and you are unsure of the source, then it should be deleted immediately. Do not download any applications or executable files from unknown sources, and be careful when trading files with other users.

***NOTE*** Let it be known that you must have only one virus protection / firewall working on your computer or serious conflicts will occur! You MUST un-install your current virus protection suite before continuing installing another. “But what if my old one is already expired?” It does not matter, divorce it anyway…

You want to make sure that all you programs are constantly updated and patched to prevent attackers from entering through software weaknesses.

Free – Spybot and or McAfee
try AVG 8.0..go to filehippo.com a website which offers free software..u must have internet connection to update the virus definition for avg 8.0…..don’t forget to install anti spyware coz i think ur pc is infested by malwares and trojans…
If you want free anti-virus, good ones like AVG, Avast! and Avira AntiVir Personal are good anti-virus softwares, all well known so far. Another free alternative is to run online scanners provided by some paid security companies like Trend Micro’s HouseCall, Kaspersky, BitDefender, and NOD32.
NOTE: HouseCall is not just an online anti-virus scanner, it scans for spyware too.

According to my experience, I rate the antivirus softwares as follows.
1. Kaspersky
2. ESET Nod32
3. AVG Anti-Virus
4. F-Secure Anti-Virus
5. Trend Micro
6. McAfee VirusScan
7. Norton AntiVirus
If you want free, then I would recommend AVG or AVAST.
But I suggest you not to go for free as there is nothin free without a condition!!!
