Im currently siffing through some Anti virus protections, but they all seem the same, but the prices differ, i have a basic computer, so im only interested in buying a virus and spyware protector/remover, does anyone have any idea which one is suited, and do the cheaper versions do a good job, which one should i buy i have my eye on Mcfee, is this a good choice.

I am computer dumb but luckily I work at best buy. I got the webroot spysweeper with antivirus and it is so simple to use and it takes off cookies and junk off your computer everytime you tell it to scan super easy and effective give it a try! I highly recommend it

    Nod32 is very good.

Personally Mcafee is not a good choice. Look at AVG anti-virus 8, this includes everything in the paid version.

I am a bit uncertain about what you mean. Anti-virus is oftentimes categorized in three categories-anti-virus-antispyware-antirootkit-firewalls The giant anti-virus companies often bundle them all together meaning you get protection from all forms of viruses. An anti-spyware doesnt protect you from fatal viruses that remain undetected and cause enormous browsing delays……..Oftentimes anti spyware programs merely trace cookies and ads from websites that you have visited. Try to get it from the giants Avast,AVG,Avira,Norton,Symantec….it was better to get both anti virus and anti spyware programs from the same company in order that you may avoid whatever anti-virus conflicts that may arise…….

Never buy Mcafee or Norton. AVG and Ad-aware are great FREE programs for doing this, and I think they’re adequate enough. If you need somehting a little better, get the paid version of AVG. If you need a lot of security, get Kaspersky. I hear that’s really good.
