"spybot search and destroy" is a good way to get rid of spyware.
to get rid of a virus, try "avg free"
You can use quick heal antivirus software which automatically deletes all the virus and spyware while u r working.
I use these programs to clean friends computers.
It helps speed up the system and usually
works every time unless there is some very unusual virus on the system.

Download the completely free Home edition. All you have to do is register your email. They do not send out information, or sell the lists. This is a great software.
