I think my computer may have a virus and I don’t have the money to buy something. Is there such a freeware that actually works to get rid of viruses and such?

I like AVAST.COM a lot. Their free permanent home version is simple, autoupdates and works fine. Yo can use it for some months without registering, but is much better to do it aftert installing and giving a real email so your free code runs forever….

One important tip is that after installing you need to be connected to the Internet, so it can download the latest treat protection.
Besides this, you will do much better if you try the popular online free testers, as the one from http://www.antivirus.com named housecall or similar products from Mcaffee or Symantec… they are free, and do extensive virus and trojan testing.
No virus no bacteria in your PC!
