I just bought new Dell. I had bought Spy Sweeper with it, believing it is the best Anti-Spyware. Was I right? Also we used to have a roommate that worked at Intel, he gave me a copy of Symantec Antivirus Version 9.0.3? What is the best, and please give proof, such as a rating from CNET or PCWorld Magazine. Thanks

You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

There is no BEST. If we all had the same solution, then the Hackers could get us with ease. So we should have a great diversity of anti-virus and anti-virus solutions. Go with the ratings to get something good.

The best anti-malware is any operating system on Earth, except Windows.

Get rid of Windows, run ANYTHING else, and you will have no virus issues anymore.

As for Antispywares, spybot – search and destroy and lavasoft’s adaware se are great ( go to download.com and see most downloaded program list for adaware). Anyways having 2-3 antispywares are well and good.

go with Ad-Aware first, in my opinion, then go ahead with spybot. DONT USE SPY SWEEPER!!! thats the worst antispyware program out there, it actually puts spyware ON your computer! (BTW, this is with my experience as a computer specialist.)
