I see a lot of PC repair shops offering "Virus Removal" as one of their specialties. What do they do that’s different than merely running the latest anti-virus software?

They do what all repair shops do that remove malware. They use a bootable anti-virus disk. It just flat out removes everything. It is also very fast. You can have a computer that is heavily infected and it will wipe it clean. Then they run a couple of programs that fix’s things that usually get messed up by malware. Doesn’t take them long. They can do other things while the programs are doing their work.
A lot of what they do is research to remove threats manually. This takes experience and a lot of work. Sometimes plain antivirus doesn’t cut it, especially if there is none when the system is infected.
I use Hijackthis then when i have identified the malware i remove it either manually or automatically.
I think PC repair stores remove them manually but i don;t know for sure
why not just ask them?
I think they just use very good software like these, there the best!
