I have a virus on my computer that has completely taken over the system’s control panel. WHen I try to view the system files, or enter the settings or the system restore, it tells me there are restrictions, and i need to contact the service administrator. I’ve tried downloading antiviruses, but the explorer shuts down. I’ve tried going into the control panel, but it’s no longer on the start menu. I have no idea what to do at this point. Please help.

If you still have the ability to view your regular files, I’d recommend you:
    1) backup your data to an external device (hard drive, CD, DVD, USB thumb drive – choice of media is yours.)
    2) Also download and backup current antivirus, antispyware , and firewall software installations, without installing them. These can be trial versions of commercial programs, or freeware, as long as they’re current and reputable. If necessary, use another computer to do this step.
    3) find your original installation media (CDs, DVDs) that came with the PC – use these to format the drive and reinstall the OS and applications – do this without going online, and without any type of internet connection to this PC.
    4) install the fresh copies of the security programs.
    5) connect the PC to the internet, get the latest updates for your security software, and allow Windows Update to get the updates it needs from Microsoft.
    6) scan your backed up data for viruses, then restore it.

Take your computer to a local independent computer store, let them take a look. Diagnosis usually is free of charge. Let them inform you of our issue (virus) and a solution,.

Last case scenario you can attempt to do a system restore.
