There are so many free antivirus softwares out there for Mac but I want to know which one is best and why. There are so many similar questions on the yahoo answers but most of them say "No one’. I don’t want this answer. I am working on Mac in my company and they use Paid antivirus software on all the macs. I just bought one Mac computer for my home it is very expensive and out of my budget so I want to use a free antivirus for this before I connect it to Internet.

Now Apple has also suggested Mac users to start using antivirus for their Mac computers. so, please don’t answer "None" or "No one" software. Please suggest me which one should I use and why and their Pros and cons.

I have a HP Laptop, it has Windows Vista, its about a year old and its in great condition. I want to make sure my laptop stays this ways so I have been looking around for a good Anti-Virus software to prevent any type of virus, spyware, malware, etc. from damaging my laptop. I do not have a lot of experience or knowledge when it comes to the difference between Spyware, Malware, virus, and all the other stuff that we need to protect our computers and laptops from, so I am hoping that someone would help me choose whats best for me at this point.

What are the top 2 Anti-Virus programs that I can look at? Do they all protect from the same issues? Do they all protect from Malware or Spyware and all the other dangerous things that can damage my laptop?

I would appreciate as much help on choosing the right anti-virus software for my HP Laptop, money is not really an issue but if there is a software that doesn’t cost so much and it does the same job I will look at that as well.

I have found popups say I have volnurabilities, I buy their product and my system crashes or I can’t get videos through the media either newsgroups or the latest movies and entertainment. How do I know if something is bad or not? either an import or an export. I want to know if Yahoo has adequate virus protection or do I need to go elsewhere like Norton’s?

Every time I search using Google I get redirected to an oriental page. When I click on Google.com I am sent to a page that is trying to sell me an anti virus software.
I scanned my PC using several (free) anti virus programs, it picked up two trojans which I removed.
The Google search redircting is still not resolved.
I have no problem searching with Yahoo.
Pls help if you can.

I got Rogers yahoo high speed internet which came with symantec’s norton protection center which protects your computer in all domains cost if you buy at a store 450$ . I saw recently when i downloaded all the windows live softwares to keep my computer live that they offer a free Live One Care.

I was wondering which one is better and why?

Well so the other day my computer got infected, and I had to go out and but a brand new anti-virus program for it……mine was too old….so i bought Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 at Staples for about sounded like a good deal, and Panda has been around for long soo i thought it would work.I bought a 3pc license, and installed it on my lapto, and found i had lots of spy ware, malware 3 backdoor Trojans…… so on.But then this add ware program that is stuck on my task bar says i have spyware and that if i click on the icon, itll help me get rid of that, of couse for a hefty …. but i got the same F****** add ware on my desktop and i had to erase all data,because that was actually another virus.After i bought panda my friend lended me another antivirus, but i dont remember its name.It worked betterthan panda, bu there still addawre.My friend is mailing my a Norton Anti-Virus 360 with a corporate license but i dont know if thatll do the trick, and i use my laptop to pay the bills and have lots of important info and they might steal my identity!!!!!!! aaaaahhh!!!! and i have to pay some bills that are only online, but i dont want to try any of my other computers because its too risky.So Any Anti Virus expert out there, I need help, i need any anti virus program thatll kick the F****** S*** out of that F****** Virus S***.Please i desperately need your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have spyware doctor, and i erased the little thing in my task bar, but i still have another problem which is that if i got to sites, like yahoo, hotmail, google,espn , etc., and i have pop up blocker on, but things like down load anti virus whatever, or your computer has spyware, dowload this, download that, and that really annoys me, and i dont know how to get that out, i need hhheeeellllpppp!!!!!!!

I’ve had this thing for a while now and when I saw something similar on the yahoo features, I thought that might be what it is. I get http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e393/Dtectivconan/warning.jpg this message along with that X every now and then. I’ve removed it before but it came back obviously. My computer also shuts down when this X appears. I really need a program to rid of this so I can work on projects knowing my computer won’t spontaneously shut down on its own. I have CC, Ad-Aware, and Spyware doctor but the infection stops Spyware doctor from working.

well,what i mean is my computer is infected with spyware and it’s connected to my router. ok? my mom is going to buy me a laptop because of the virus(it’s really bad! i can’t use the internet! all i can do is chat with my cousins on yahoo messenger when they are online!). can my virus infect my router? when i get my laptop i’m gonna connect my router to my laptop. i’m afraid its gonna infect my new laptop if the router’s infected. so these are my questions:

can a spyware virus infect my router?
if the router is infected then will it infect my new laptop?

I have Yahoo Anti-Spy, which occasionally catches some spyware on my computer, but when I use an online scanner, there are lots of other things that are hidden on my computer. How do I get these infected files out of my computer without having to buy antivirus software? Most of them are in "hkey" files. Thanks.

I have Yahoo virus and adware protection but for some reason everytime I delete these viruses they come right back and it is slowing down my computer, and I do not know if yahoo has an update for these viruses and adware.

hi yesterday my pc was infacted a virus, after that i cant open my folder option, registry key and even when i press the clt+alt+del it says " task manager is disabled by Administrator".
after a while i found a notepad file in my desktop its written "Hi User, how are you? Valo Achoto? ebxbev@yahoo.com".
whatever i try to delet the file it comes again in my desktop………and the writtiing it continus its line with the same word "Hi User, how are you? Valo Achoto? ebxbev@yahoo.com"
the bigest problem i have after this infaction my pc turn off automaticaly.
pls is there any one out there who can help me to solve the problem

i already format my full pc and install the latest kespersky antivirus and even update it, already install the spyware doctor nd update aswell but after half hour the virus comes again to my pc desktop , and am having the same problem again the same result…………

use the internet service/set up an e-mail address with the main provider? I recently purchased a new computer (an inexpensive eMachine). The computer seems to have internet service through Google which I don’t really use and I have not set up an e-mail account with Google. I do have e-mail with Yahoo and through Comcast Cablevision which is my major provider/the one I am paying for. Both Comcast and Yahoo already have spyware/virus protection with their service. If I don’t set up an e-mail address through the Google account, do I need to install the "temporarily" free antivirus software (or go buy it elsewhere) that the computer keeps prompting me to do?

Recently, up to 13 deadly viruses eg. win32 detected in my PC after being scanned by AVG. My PC’s status is now as ‘infected’. I wanted to buy an anti-virus programme (Northon 2007 or Windows Live One Care preferred), how much will it cost? Does it mean a life-time protection upon purchase? Should I reformat my PC before i install it? or just install it and do some in depth cleaning to get rid of those virus in my computer? What are your suggestions? By the way, after my PC infected, i couldnt log in to MSN messenger anymore, weird thing is, I just able to login to my Yahoo!messenger, what’s wrong?

Its best NOT TO USE YOUR PC until you buy decryptor, otherwise all your data could be lost forever

Now i am unable to open any file , either JPEg type or even a word document.

actually when i m opening my yahoo messenger the file naming ganda nakaktawa avi its transfering itself to the contacts which has been added to my messenger list so i would like to clean this virus from my pc .

I keep getting nonstop popups telling me to download antispyware scanners also "avsystemcare" installs by itself on my computer

i have tried these free spyware scanners : Ad-Ware, Spyware Terminator, AVG spyware on SAfe Mode

I also tried a guide that someone recommended on yahoo of "smitfraudfix" on safe mode and that didn’t work either!

PLS HELP!!! i am wiling to go to the computer store to buy a good spyware/virus software… as long as it gets rid of these pesks!

At the moment, I cannot afford to buy anti virus software. I do not want my computer to crash. Can someone recommend a good free download? I tried AVG, Avast and Kaspersky. I didn’t like any of those. In fact, I got several viruses WITH AVG installed. Thanks!

My PC has got a typical virus. Please help me get it removed. In the Internet Options in the control panel, I have put http://www.yahoo.com as the default site, which should open whenever I click on IE6 or IE7 icon. But on my PC a site by the name http://www.asecureboard.com appears whenever I hit IE6. This is strange because under Internet Options the default site still is the same that is http://www.yahoo.com
In addiition to the above, when I try to change the web site from this httpL//www.asecureboard.com site by choosing a new address from the memory available on the drop down feature of the address bar, the site changes as per chosen option except when I choose http://www.yahoo.com. The screen remains static on site http://www.asecureboard.com if I choose yahoo site. Please seek any more clarification from me if that is required to solve my problem. I am having Norton Anti Virus software always live on my PC/
