My computer has been infected by a trojan virus called infostealer.lineage. I can’t seem to get it off my computer, i’ve tried using Norton and Trend Micro, Ad-Aware SE, Spy Bot, Windows Defender, AVG Anti-Spyware and I still can’t seem to get rid of it. A message keeps popping up saying my computer has been infected by a trojan virus, but when i try to get rid of it, none of my anti-virus programs can seem to detect or get rid of it. If anyone knows how to properly remove it from my computer please let me know!!

okay first i am NOT on my computer. on mine, all these windows defender and antispyware 2010 and all this other stuff keeps popping up. it won’t let me access the internet but i need the internet. i can’t keep using my mothers. what is the BEST virus and spyware removal that i can buy and use on my computer that does NOT require the internet to install. i kind of need it from best buy. but i want experienced people to tell me what their experiences from the products were. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Ok, my computer is all screwed up, or so i think it is. run a Windows defender scan and it says i have a Severe Trojan virus called: Trojan:Win32/Vundo/gen!L and i press "apply actions" a window then pops up saying that it needs to send some info to Microsoft to gain information about the things to further the effectiveness of windows defender. so i do send the information and it says it encountered a problem "one or more actions could not be completed successfully". So i check for updates as it recommends and there is none. great I’m screwed. so i then go to my McAfee and do a scan, the scan stops in the middle of it and shuts down the McAfee program Wonderful what now? So then i notice on Internet explorer that is i type something in to google say Myspace and click on the myspace link it directs me to a totally different site such as Elle magazine ?!?! i have no idea whats going on is that caused my the virus?

next i look up best Anti-virus softwares and find Spyware Doctor… and i just found out i have a shit load of threats and infections T_T

10 threats and 344 infections to be exact i have 2 highs, 2 mediums ,4 lows, and 2 "info & PUAs" great, great now im stuck.

ok now time to solve the problem what do you recommend me doing? buying a anti-virus software such as Spyware doctor?

please help thanks.

ps one of the things is a backdoor.agent?!?!

dont even say AVG that is not detecting it, niether is my windows Defender or zonealarm idk what to do. i had twister and that rocked but it expired. it looks like im goina have to just pay up the money to buy it b/c nothing else works

Hi can someone please help me.. ok so this is my problem I bought an acer laptop about almost five months ago and it came with mcafee virus protection trial and it expired but then I moved around the time I lost mcafee and then I got Concast and got Mcafee again b/c they offer it free to costumers. So then today I was using my laptop and all of sudden I got a pop up saying that I had 8 viruses(which was the first time I’ve ever gotten a virus) so I did a scan with windows defender and Mcafee and both said that there was nothing there but now this pop up keeps on popping up it’s called Extra Antivirus and it has a shortcut and is on the bottom panel of my laptop as well but I kept on deleting it and it won’t go away and it’s not in my programs(I tried to look for it there but it’s not there) is there anyway to get rid of it and if there is how?please help.

I bought an ex display laptop but realised the shop I bought it from, Comet, had already made their own settings etc on the laptop. For example, the C drive is called ‘comet’ and although I can change the name of the computer when I receive files and download things they are always saved under the name ‘comet’. Also, when I turned my laptop on it started up just as if I had used it before (because its ex-display). For some reason I can’t help feeling this laptop is second hand, even though it hasnt been used before exept to show people in the shop.

Is there a way I can restore the laptop to its factory/original settings so that when I turn it on it is as if it has never been used before and I am the first person to have used the laptop? I want to run the startup seetings that would have run if the laptop was turned on for the first time.

I have a HP G60 and it is on windows vista home premium.

However, I don’t really want to lose certain things such as the Norton anti virus that was already running on this laptop and has a month left, or programs such as microsoft word or windows defender.

I’ve tried SpyBot, AVG AntiVirus, McAfee, and Windows Defender. Windows Defender has been the most successful but it still hasn’t erased all traces of spywar/viruses. Please someone help me!

I just bought a new hp desktop 6 days ago with amd athlon 5600+ windows vista home premium 3 gb ram 500 gb sata hard drive im not really quite sure but i think the video memory is only 128 mb… the computer comes with a free 60 day trial to use norton but this sunday i will have a comcast provider for internet and they have that service that comes with mcafee and my computer has that windows defender thing not quite sure what the differences are but the people that sold the comp to us warned us to buy a antivirus software because they’re computer got attacked by viruses or either got hacked and needed to buy a new one…

P.s. I havent used the free 60 day norton thing I dont really have internet yet im waitin for comcast and either today or tomorrow i will buy a new antivirus/spyware software for my comp…

i am a Mircosoft Vista User 32 bit Operating System i have downloaded avg free anti virus protection but for some reason it is not turned on. windows security center says it is not turned on i try and turn on to no avail. Can anyone help me with this problem? and can anyone help me with the Kapersky website its not workingand should i just buy the software instead of using free anti virus software
no i dont not have kapersky i only have avg and windows defender the only problem is the malware protection is not working

I run windows vista, another user on my pc let a unknown program run from a porn site and it installed itself on my pc. It runs on the toolbar and constantly alerts me I have a security problem. I scanned my pc via mcafee 3 user already installed. mcafee says no problem with pc. windows defender also scanned same results. why is this red x still running on my toolbar? someone plz help!!

I just bought a new laptop and it came pre loaded with norton security demo version and windows vista, a couple days later, my computer started acting really funny and then said my computer said windows defender has detected spyware , do i want to clean my system, i said no in case it was the virus or spyware trying to infect my system so i tried to run scan via an online scanner from mcafee, it downloaded the software but then told it encountered an error and cant carry on, the same thing happened on other anti virus sites so i’m now sure i have a virus on my computer and was wondering if i unistall norton security as its only a trial version and bought a anti virus program will it fix it or not

You know,one where it can get rid of the viruses/spyware or whatever else without having to sign up or pay monthly. Windows Defender is ok, but it’s impossible to change the homepage to what I want. And of course, it has to be effective.

I use AVG anti-virus/spyware software regularly and it detects things from time to time; I also use Windows Defender and malicious software removal tool occasionally but they never seem to detect anything. Finally, I use Advanced Windows Care 2 personal periodically and this detects loads of issues. Why the discrepancy?

I heard soooooooooo many people say AOL protection sucks, doesn’t work, and is very slow or may even make their comp run slow. So far, I have Ad-aware SE personal (which a comp tech downloaded for me) and Windows Defender, but I would like to know other free services that will keep my comp spyware and virus free. Do U know any?All answers would be greatly appreciated:)

I want to download a virus protection program on my windows vista laptop. Anyone have any good sucess with one type of anti-virus program that they would like to recomend?
