Other than AVG, Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes, and SmitFraudFix, what do you prefer?

I know this is a fake pop up, I have run spybot and ad-aware to no avail. Please help me I’m at a total loss. PLEASE help. Thank you

When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?

My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.

Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]

What are your suggestions?

i also keep finding trojan viruses on my comp. im using avg for viruses and spybot - search and destroy for spyware and adware. every couple of weeks trojan horse virus comes back, but the links to virus control sites is a new one today
it is set to block pop ups. however i use mozilla but in IE theres a security toolbar that is in all the pop ups

hi, about a year ago i bought an esystems laptop:
intel celeron m420 1.6ghz
512mb ddrii 533 ram
40 gb hard drive which is half full
vista basic

when i bought it it was pretty quick but now just having a couple programmes open and its very slow.
i regularly defrag, disc cleanup. have avg and norton anti virus, use smitfraudremover tool, adaware and spybot. but none seem to help.

is there anything else i can do to make it faster short of buying a new one. i know that technology advances quickly… but to make mine obselete in a year?

btw i only realy use it for itunes, coursework, internet, movies etc. i dont play games on it at all. id just like the programmes i have not to take minutes to start up or complete one task.

any help is much appreciated

its almost 1 month now… i have this virus called quicktime.exe and x.exe the AVG antivirus and SpyBot S&D keep detecting and removing it but still… it seems that this virus is immortal… many expert on the forum i visited that once infected by a backdoor trojan the only way to remove it is to format the pc… there must be a way to remove it, pls help…

I have two processes called freddy77.exe and pp12.exe which are harming my computer. I swept my computer with McAfee and Spybot, and they have not been able to get them. Any suggestions?

Any info about these 2 processes would also be appreciated. My browser won’t allow me to access sites discussing them (so it seems).

I recently downloaded the trial version of Spyware Doctor 6 and ran a scan. The scanner picked up several trojan viruses and a Keylogging program. The keylogger was the biggest problem for me since i play World Of Warcraft. I pressed fix problems (or w/e it says on the program) and it tells me i must purchase the full version to remove the viruses/trojans/keyloggers etc. I do not want to pay 30$ to do so and im sure theres free programs that can do the same thing… i just havnt found any yet. I have spybot S&D and ran it. It caught/found no threats(viruses/trojans, etc.). Since it did not find the problems spyware doctotr did i cannot remove them ><. As you can see this puts me in a problem. I just ran a symantec antivirus Full Scan about 12 minutes ago so it should be awhile until its finished. All of the programs i used ( Spybot S&D, Symantec Antivirus) are all updated so there isnt anything that hasnt been added to the programs. I need 2 find a program like S. doc. but is free, ty

I don’t have alot of money to pay for the big companies subscription based antivirus software so I’m looking for the best I can get freeware or otherwise. Prevx worked well but I used up the 30 day trial. Also have spybot but that’s not doing so well either. Any other suggestions?

We downloaded spybot and removed hundreds of trojans and spyware, but spybot can’t get to a minority few. Meanwhile, I keep getting my contacts list stolen, then erased and replaced with a bunch of addresses I don know, while friends send email asking what’s happening. Typical greetings in the subject box include ‘good website’ and ‘merry christmas’. Please help, anyone. Appreciatively, Randy

I use Norton, and they’ve detected a trojan virus that need manually removed. I have gone to the Symantec website but the directions for disabling and enabling system restore aren’t for vista so I can’t follow them. How do i go about this?
I have spybot and ad-aware as well, but only Norton detected this trojan virus!
