i got this spyware thing recently. at random moments, it will have pop ups and it is a custom notification on my toolbar on my desktop. its always flashing, tellin me i have a virus/spyware, when really, the virus/spyware i have is that notification thing. the pop ups tell me to buy their anti virus programs.
dont tell me to download antivirus/spyware remover software. thats one of the problems…
i already had norton antivirus, it has always worked, its up to date and renewed, its fine, its norton’s best program but when i do full system scans with it, it says i have NO viruses/spyware when i obviously do because of the pop ups and notifications.
so…i download some other trustworthy scans and anti virus programs and they are the same thing! they tell me i have no viruses or spyware or threats. the two programs i downloaded are AVG and Lavasoft.
tell me how to get rid of this virus or spyware i have. but DONT TELL ME TO DOWNLOAD ANOTHER ANTIVIRUS/VIRUS SCAN PROGRAM.
i have asked this question be4 but the only thing ppl tell me are "oh, download this program and use this, its better" ive tried 3 programs already and they all say i have no virus.
but i do! i get pop ups becuz of this notification bar.
how do i get rid of these pop ups and notification button. dont tell me to geta pop up blocker or anythign becuz i have tried 4 of those too. and i have a program that blocks spyware.
nothing works!

I need a good reliable virus scanner and remover and possibly a pop up blocker for my laptop does anyone know of any?
Im not sure if the pop ups are linked with the viruses but its always the same pop ups.

so i went and bought virus/spyware protection and downloaded it and run virus scans on my computer everyday or every other day. but almost every time i go to a website, i still web pages popping up advertising some random thing, even with pop-up blocker. also random times my computer screen will go blank except for my background on my desktop, icons and all so i will have to restart my computer……all i know to do was get virus protection from best buy so im not sure if there is still somethin wrong or not.

My dad knows absolutely nothing about computers, and he didn’t buy an antivirus software when he got the computer, and with his constant need of downloading from limewire and other free sites on the internet, I deffinately think he should have one. But he doesn’t wanna go to the store and pay money for something that he doesnt and will never think he needs, so I wanna find a free on on the internet that I can download for him. Any sugestions?
And also, what about a free pop up blocker?
Because we get a pop up like every 2 minutes and its really annoying.
