i have been renting to own a pc laptop and i hate it! if i finished buying it (because i have put WAY to much into it now!) and then sold it and bought a different one, which should i get…

i really love the macbook, but i have heard they are hard to get use to is this true, should i just try another laptop…

i have an hp pavillion dv7 now, i use to have a dell and i like the hp better but i keep getting viruses and stuff messing up or slowing down my computer, i am SO tired of it! i really love the idea of a macbook but i know that it is not easy to find some programs for the mac…

if you are a mac user, do you like it? is it easy for you to find programs? is it more expensive for those programs? and also how long did it take for you to get use to the interface?

anything else i need to know???
haha i know…i am not looking to do this until i find a job (which may be a while) but i am a very ocd person, i have to plan and plan months in advance!

i just finished with school and that cost me ,000 so i wasn’t able to afford anything expensive…

i know the mac does get viruses but not hardly as many as a pc does, and so far i ahve really disliked windows, and the macs i have used i love!

i want something that will be good for traveling, i really enjoy traveling and i plan on doing it more once i get a job. but a 17", 8 pound laptop is not really ideal for traveling with it! idk maybe i will just buy and ipad–you know the new one, and keep my klunker!

I plan on purchasing a pc laptop for college and I want it to be safe, do I have to buy both of those or just one, if so which one? If you don’t think Norton is good, I’d appreciate it if you would recommend another brand of security software for a computer.

I bought a pc laptop recently and it only has a trial version of internet security on it so I have to buy/download some type of security either before or after it expires, however I am confused on whether I need both or just one of them installed.

I have a PC Laptop that is a little outdated but still does the job for me. Anyway, it runs far too slowly. It takes for ever to load a page online and also even takes far too long to open up an application such as MS word.

I usually delete all the cookies and any applications I do not use. It also does not seem that I have any major viruses on my laptop.

I plan to get a new laptop as soon as I can afford one, but for the time being will have to use this one.

What can I do to make it more efficient without buying anything?

If there are any applications online I can download which will assist me with this I would appreciate a link.

Thanks

Long story short (and I won’t give you a sob story) I bought a few years old tablet-pc (laptop w/ stylus and turning screen) so I can take notes in class. I’m in highschool, taking (literally) the hardest classes available in the US. If you don’t know what the IB program is, Google it. I’m a senior IB Diploma student, and again Google that if you aren’t familiar with the International Baccalaureate program.

Anyway, sorry to draw that out but I bought this laptop, used it to take notes as a tablet pc and that worked great. Now it died and it’s going to cost me more than I paid to fix it.

Does anyone have a laptop they don’t need anymore? I can pay shipping, etc, whatever’s needed but I just don’t have any money to purchase another computer.

Believe me when I say this: I’m not picky at all. Also I can re-install Windows or remove a virus or something if it needs something like that.

If you think you can help at all please do let me know.

Thank you!!
People, I’m sorry. I didn’t expect this to turn into…this.

I don’t know how to prove it’s not a scam. I mean, anything that anyone would give me isn’t probably gonna be worth selling now is it?

Now I know how the internet works and I suppose I should have expected this…regarding a job, has anyone here taken a look at the job market??

Believe me or don’t, I’ve looked for a job. I took economics last year; the economy is a pretty bad shape right now. Otherwise I think I would have a job and have bought a working computer by now.

I’ll try craigslist, thanks. Hadn’t thought of that.

If you find this offensive I’m sorry. I’ll see about pulling the question. I was just trying to see if, as people regularly upgrade their laptops, anyone had one they didn’t want anymore…possibly sitting in a closet or the like.

I need to replace my sons pc laptop (crashed from another virus) but I want to go with a used mac as I’ve been reading that those are more resilient to viruses. Where can I buy one?? I’ve checked the apple store but those were still pretty expensive.
