I hve got so many viruses on my new laptop and now i need to wipe it clean and start again.
I have backed up all my music, photos and school work but now I need make sure i use the recovery disk properly.
I’ve never had to do this.
Do i just put it in and boot from dvd drive? I want it fully cleared so i can start again with virus protection from the start.
If no one knows how to help with this problem. Can someone please tell me if i am able to format the hard drive without putting vista back on? so I can buy a new copy and install it the normal way? Or maybe I could install XP instead…

My parents apparently guilty because of the whole divorce thing have agreed to buy me a laptop that would be used for mainly school, entertainment purposes (music, photos, SIMS 2?) and just internet
I was thinking about the Dell 1420 because I thought it was cheaper but on dell.com it takes FOREVER to ship and was leaning just toward the Hp tablet one i can pick up in the store.

- will this allow me (with integrated RAM, processor, graphics card etc.)
- to have my ipod library on it
-my cannon photo library
-play the SIMS 2 (but no other games)
and still have left over memory like just so it doesnt get slow
ON LAST THING
with a virus blocker, does limewire ef up any (specifically that hp tablet) system and slow it down alot because itunes is a ripoff
