I just bought a new mac book and I was told that a macs operating system is not susceptible to viruses and that I don’t need to buy any anti-virus software. Is this correct?
I bought a Toshiba Satellite A135 in April of 2007. I used it mostly for my college essays and research papers. In July, I put it away in my bookshelf. I did not need it until this month and now when i try to charge it, it will not charge. When i try to turn it on, it will not turn on. The Charger indicator on the laptop will not turn on and i really do not know what else to do. I was thinking about getting a Macbook since i would not have to worry about it catching a virus, and because it can be used with my optimum online modem via the ethernet port. I’ve never owned a MAC BOOK, but i’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Will the transition From Windows To Mac be difficult?
Mac book, bought in August, I’ve been using a free program up until now, I need protection that is still affordable
And for the record, I never download music of movies illegally or anything, I just want virus protection INCASE something makes its way thru email or something

I am currently using a Asus G1s computer running on Windows Vista. However i have lately become fed up with the constant slowdowns and problems on this computer. Not to mention the viruses etc…that i get when i accidentally open a wrong email or something.
I am considering buying a new laptop and am considering the Mac book pro15inch.
What i really want to know is, is a mac really that virus resistant and still user friendly? I’ve never used a mac before.
If i were to not buy the mac, i would ask if anyone can recommend a good custom made laptop company to make a decent gaming laptop. I don’t mean one of those cut and paste ones but a good reliable company that has good support. An can incorporate a non windows system into it, something like the UNIX in mac.

Umm…it seems the question now is if i were to buy a windows com again. How can i prevent viruses from getting in without slowing down my com? My current g1s has anti virus software and it slow was a snail. Still…i will check out alienware..but the nice one is vvv expensive…my quote was 4.6k. Anything cheaper?
I just bought a new mac book, and I want to put all of my music on it, but my old PC has a virus that is deleting my hard drive. I don’t want this to carry over to my mac. If I put some of the music from that computer onto my mac will the virus not effect it?
