I am frustrated, I have been infected with a Trojan Conhook, & WINTRATBHO.. I have tried every tool available. I personally would like to sue this company for my time & frustration & its attempt to "Blackmail" us into buying Their product to remove the virus THEY Installed.

Are there any current patches or resolutions to these hideous attacks? They ruined my Other laptop. This is not the system that is Infected to my knowledge.
They hijacked my IE Browser, I constantly get a message about "working Offline"
I personally feel these types of Malware companies that force people to buy & use their software should be accountable for the destruction, frustration, time & effort used to get rid of THEIR worms & viruses. I’d love to join a Class action lawsuit.

My laptop has had this Virus for some time now..And i can’t figure out what the hell to do with it.
I Don’t wanna have to buy some Crap for it to make it better i’ve spent enough money on that.
I cannot connect to wireless internet or anything, can’t even system restore. There must be something i can do to get rid of whatever it is some way using just my laptop.
Someone have any good info?
I hve got so many viruses on my new laptop and now i need to wipe it clean and start again.
I have backed up all my music, photos and school work but now I need make sure i use the recovery disk properly.
I’ve never had to do this.
Do i just put it in and boot from dvd drive? I want it fully cleared so i can start again with virus protection from the start.
If no one knows how to help with this problem. Can someone please tell me if i am able to format the hard drive without putting vista back on? so I can buy a new copy and install it the normal way? Or maybe I could install XP instead…

If my computer gets a virus without antivirus, can i buy onr while the virus is there?? Will it get rid of?

it got a virus
so i got norton the one my laptop came with but it said it expired
so i cant use anything on my laptop cuz its infected
can i buy an anti virus and install it???
will it still kill the virus even though it was installed after i got the antivirus
im kind of nervous too because everytime i open a file it doesnt open
and i think it will do the same to my antivirus i will install
any cheap ones u guys no of bcuz im just a kid
and i dont want my parents to get mad cuz they will be rlly pissed off

MY LAPTOP IS SO SLOW ,,,100% USED OF CPU EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT RUN ANY PROGRAM

What is the best anti-virus software? Cause i just bought a new laptop and the free trial of norton anti-virus was over and i am planning to use a new and good software. (Not norton anti-virus because it makes my com so slow when trying to shut down). I would like a software that do not need to pay monthly fee or if possible a very good free anti-virus software.
When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?
My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.
Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]
What are your suggestions?

my laptop is infected with a virus/spyware called microsoft xp fraud where it pretends to be an anitivirus software but it really isnt. it changed my desktop to black and everytime i use the internet, all the ads say that i have a virus and i need to buy anitvirus software. i used spybot, avg, and superantispyware but it couldnt remove it completely. i still have it and now i cant even access the start menu or use the internet. is it too late, or is there anything i could do to fix it? my friend talked about using a different computer and using the wireless network to scan the computer with a different computer. is that possible? any suggestions appreciated!
i bought my laptop 6 mths ago from new, i stupidly used it on net without anti virus software now istalled norton and it says i have this trojan, i cannot connect to net wirelessly now and system restore won’t work, i don’t have a clue bout pc’s so what do i do? can i re-install windows to resolve everything?
I bought a laptop around four months ago and over the past week it has had 100% CPU usage, does anyone know how i can fix this?

Ron T – i did what you said with the malwarebytes thing and it said have 2 infected files – Adware.BHO and Adware.Videoegg ?? i have no idea what these are or if i need them or anything so what do i do now?
ok, so i bought a laptop from a friend for 40 bucks. it is an very old ibm r40 think pad. so after about a week a virus corrupted. I used the backed up version of xp that it comes with but after installing i realized that most of the drivers are either gone or not installed. i cant use my mouse and the pad is broken. does anyone know how i can install all the drivers and get it back to normal. also the wifi and ethernet drivers are gone as well so i cant access the web on it either.

How do I completely delete the old anti-virus before installing a new one?
I’ve removed the older anti-virus from my laptop through "remove program" option in the control panel. However, when I tried to install the new anti-virus using the installation disc I’ve just bought, it stated that the old anti-virus had not been removed yet. I’ve rechecked so many times but it didn’t work. The system requirements of my laptop are fine and compatible. So, what was wrong and how can I fix it?

I bought a used laptop that had an antivirus software in it already.Every time I check the date it expres it says the same day I log on except next year.Like When I checked it on August it was supposed to expire august 2010.Now that I checked on Dec 2009 it says it now expires Dec 2010.Is this common cause I was getting ready to get a free antivirus once this one expired.

Hi, I have just used malwarebytes to remove Antivirus Live, and found out I lost the internet connection. It seems my laptop has internet access but I just cannot open IE or any other browsers. Can any one help me out? Thank you in advance.
So when I bought my laptop i got kaperski anti virus version 7.0. Its time to renew and its giving me the option of the Anti Virus 2009 or the Internet security 2009.

So I got all of "tha carter" series. I got some random songs from mixtapes. But I want to buy the mixtape themselves. Doesnt matter if it s just a digital copy. Itunes doesn’t seem to have them. I currently have a Toshiba Satellite, and I’m fed up with it. The wireless shuts off randomly (it has been doing this since day 1) and doesn’t work completely unless I have an ethernet, it freezes while loading websites regularly, even if it’s just me checking my e-mail, and it totally crashed last month, forcing me to re-image it. Whether it’s all just me or the laptop itself, I don’t know, but I’m definitely in the market for a new laptop. I’m currently a senior in college, so I want to have a laptop I could use for grad school and the future as well- this is not going to be some laptop I buy once, and then trash it next year for another replacement. I’ll probably be using it for Word processing, PowerPoint presentations, music and pictures, as well as internet. Nothing too huge. I was thinking of a netbook, but I don’t think it’d be able to handle all of that. I’m leaning toward a MacBook just because I am so frustrated with the things that go wrong with my Toshiba (viruses, being slow, etc), but I’m also considering Sony laptops as well.
Any suggestions? I’d rather not get a Dell (heard too many bad stories) and I’m NOT considering another Toshiba, ever. Also, considering my usage and memory requirements (which music and pictures is a big part of), what specs should I be looking for?

My laptop is right now in a horrible condition. I get a pop up literly every minute. Atleast once a day my laptop just exits out whatever I’m on. My internet speed is about a third of what it should be. Now I don’t know if I should just go buy a new virus protection thing to get rid of all my laptop’s viruses, or is it too late for it and I should just save up for a new computer? Any advice on good anti-virus software?
I want to buy a laptop for pretty much everyday use. I don’t care if it’s Mac or PC. Mac I know is more expensive, but less virus prone. Right know I’m looking at HP and Dell. My BF has had this lap top for about a yr. (hewlett packer) bought it brand new and he’s had it fixed once (the inner piece where it charges broke and it took them 4mos. to fix it.)
We think it’s contracted a virus it won’t let us sign on to the internet at all, it freezes up and it’s running extremely slow. There are other things it’s doing but it would take to long to list.
He saved all of his important files on to an external hard drive and has erased all programs except the spy ware and the intial programs that the computer came with. He has put some sort of virus cleaner on there and it’s not helping. His Dad has looked at it and hasn’t said good things about it (his Dad is good with computers)
I have a feeling that it’s going to be more trouble than it’s worth to fix and have seen some really great deals on some lap tops lately.
So should we try and save his laptop or shoot for a new one?
I personally am ready to throw it out the window.

I click on the icon and it won’t open a window. Is there another way to get a hold of that software you suggested?
