I’ve found this laptop for sale and the owner claims it has a virus she didn’t want to mess with so bought a new computer. Would it be difficult to get rid of the virus, especially if you aren’t interested in anything but the software on it or would you have to replace it, and how would you get rid of it? Would software manufacturers replace the original software for free or would you have to buy new? The sale price is 0 and it’s use would be very basic, word processing and internet for e-mail and limited surfing. Would you buy this computer, assuming you are very computer savvy?
yes i have spyware on my computer when i before i open my computer is that:
s c:\windows\system32\systray.exe
and i found alot of files deleted
if you need more details please e-mail me
I currently have a Toshiba Satellite, and I’m fed up with it. The wireless shuts off randomly (it has been doing this since day 1) and doesn’t work completely unless I have an ethernet, it freezes while loading websites regularly, even if it’s just me checking my e-mail, and it totally crashed last month, forcing me to re-image it. Whether it’s all just me or the laptop itself, I don’t know, but I’m definitely in the market for a new laptop. I’m currently a senior in college, so I want to have a laptop I could use for grad school and the future as well- this is not going to be some laptop I buy once, and then trash it next year for another replacement. I’ll probably be using it for Word processing, PowerPoint presentations, music and pictures, as well as internet. Nothing too huge. I was thinking of a netbook, but I don’t think it’d be able to handle all of that. I’m leaning toward a MacBook just because I am so frustrated with the things that go wrong with my Toshiba (viruses, being slow, etc), but I’m also considering Sony laptops as well.
Any suggestions? I’d rather not get a Dell (heard too many bad stories) and I’m NOT considering another Toshiba, ever. Also, considering my usage and memory requirements (which music and pictures is a big part of), what specs should I be looking for?
Any help on a good quality, longterm laptop that won’t fall apart on me in a year or two would be great, I’m clearly not an expert on this!

I surf all kinds of sites chasing links etc. I do banking and e-mail too of course. What is a good solid product worth buying, or is there a free one?
When I get my taxes back, I am planning on purchasing a laptop. I am currently a student. I will be using the computer for recreational purposes as well though such as e-mail, itunes, photos, Internet, etc. I am looking for something convenient that works fast and is durable. Any input would be much appreciated. I also would like tips on the best security systems to protect my computer from viruses and such. **I do have a budget, but I would rather the input be based on the notion that money is no object. I would rather know the best computer, not the best computer under a certain dollar amount. Thank you for your help.
Like the accessories and what kind of features on the computer like the screen size, gigabytes, etc. I might go with a Apple MacBook. Is there a pink or red one? Any pink like lavender, light, dark, magenta, etc. Maybe purplish like pink. For the third comment are you trying to scam me or something. Those are like virus/ads. Mostly, I need to know what kind of things to get with it and how much does it cost and that it matches the color of the MacBook I’m getting. It has a built it camera. What’s bluetooth? I need a wireless mouse, headphones-maybe, laptop protector, laptop backpack, and other things that I need to know to get. I saw a mouse pouch but I don’t thing I need that. I’m getting it next year and I’m just gonna use it for tying up stuff on Word, homework research, e-mail, games, downloading games and movies so that’s about it. Thank You!!!
