I’ve been looking everywhere on how to remove this, but there’s a folder that keeps popping up on my USB drives called "Recycler". Inside it there’s a folder named "S-1-5-21-1482476501-1644491937-682003330-1013" which holds an Autorun.inf and Recycler.exe.

I’ve tried removing it several times, several different ways (command prompt, registry editor etc.). I’ve already re-installed windows, and no anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-malware software detects it. This includes Malwarebytes, Superanti, Spybot, etc.

I can temp remove it on a mac by deleting the files (one of them I have to unlock) but the folders won’t allow me to delete them anymore (on a Mac at school, and it claims to need admin permissions to delete the folders, meanwhile it’s my own USB drive). It seems to be eating up file space or something because whenever I delete any files, I still don’t gain any space back. Not even to save a Jpeg, and I just removed two very large music files from one disc in particular.

I think this thing may have been infecting my pc/usbs for a while, but only just now am I starting to see it. Last year it wouldn’t allow me to click on my usb drives to open them. I had to right click > explore to access it at all. Another time they’d open in a new window even when I only clicked on them normally. I also read that a variant of the virus can cause some system files to be corrupted and restart shortly after booting up. My old machine did just that.

I must’ve gotten it from a school computer or something, I don’t do torrents or P2P, nor do I use Myspace (I think I closed my old account off a few years back). I’ve looked at autoruneater @ download.com (and other popular fixes) but the reviews for each one suggest they still don’t remove the virus. I need something that’s a surefire fix (just in case this computer is affected as much as the old one was).
The ‘not allowing me to add new files’ thing got weirder. It shows me I have 1Gb free and 500Mb used, but I still can’t save Jpegs to it on Macs. Can sort of do it on Windows though…

I want a good anti-virus/ anti-spyware that doesn’t slow down my laptop. Also, I’m trying to find one that I don’t have to buy a one, two, or three year subscription to, but rather one that works until decide to remove it.

I have alot of trojan viruses in my pc. I have tried downloading alot of anti virus sights but it scan for them and tells me i have to subscribes to remove the viruses. Is there any site that will remove them for free without registering??

I need to buy a new spyware anti-virus program for my computer. What is the best one to buy??

I want to buy a new laptop that is fast and has good graphics I also would like the laptop to be pretty big. I would like the laptop to have a very good security, anti-virus system….. This would be my first laptop. I would use it for lots of work, games and photos and maybe a few movies. What should i get a vaio or mac and which model?

I just got a new computer and my old anti virus was not that good. I want to buy a good one that is at a good price.

I had tried to download some of the anti-virus programs with free trial but they just scanned my PC and later on offer their services and have to pay first before remedy. They are all the same so which one is worth paying for?

i have the past version of kasperskey but the license has expired, and i don’t have the money to buy more software. so whats a good anti virus i can use that’s free and is as good as the leading brands?

Ok so a friend of my b/f was staying with us and I let him use my laptop at nite when I went to bed but soon stopped letting him when I found out he was watching porn on it. But it was too late. I now have some kind of virus on my computer. It says its called virus 2009. It keeps prompting me to download it so it can get rid of viruses. Im pissed. So I was just wondering if there was anyway to erase it off my computer without buying an anti-virus disk.. And if theres not, then what is the best anti-virus program to buy?

I have a MacBook Pro and want to buy a really good anti virus programme as I open alot of sites i’m pretty sure are packed with trojan horses and spyware. Can anyone recommend the best specifically for Mac?

Thank you!

Okay, I’m going to buy an Anti-Virus Program called Kaspersky.
I’m going to buy or download an Anti-Spyware Program (don’t know of a good one yet)
But I was wondering what other programs I should run on this laptop? I won’t be using tons of programs, mostly for surfing the net and email and Adobe Flash.

Okay, so this afternoon I want to buy the AVG AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware this afternoon, but I would like some reviews if anyone has to links to any, or has had Any Experience with is.

Thanks!!!
I want to BUY it so I at least I know I am covered and don’t get "Well your using the free version so…blah blah blah."

I’m not sure, I’m hoping you all will know. I got a virus from my laptop, with the USB drive plugged in. Then, to test it out to see if the USB drive still worked, I plugged it into the school computer and it read: H:/ denied.

So I went back to ‘My Computer’, then right clicked the removable disk, and clicked ‘format’. It took less than 30 seconds to format it, and as I went back to check on the disk, nothing was there, as I opened it. No H:/ denied, no information was stored, it was as if it was completely new.

I’m not sure if it’s removed the virus completely, but it did destroy all my files that were saved onto there.

Can you guys help me make sure (the school security’s network has a high level of security as compared to my normal computer)? I don’t want to risk getting a virus on my new laptop if I use this flash drive. I’m too scared of plugging it in and running an anti-virus scan on it since it’s already plugged into the computer, it’ll infect it immediately before I open to read the files.

I’m not sure if it’s been deleted or if it’s safe to use. Should I just buy a new one? If so, any recommendations for a flash drive that is affordable, durable, long-life with use (can withstand a large amount of uses with saves). This one that I’m using is a PNY attache 4gb, I got it last two years ago for at Best Buy.
Are you extremely 100% positive that if I formatted it, which I hope I did… Right-click format, and then a window shows up and there’s a process completion bar and it takes 30 seconds to it’s completion, it was formatted? I hope it is, I don’t want to spend another on a flash drive. Thanks. :)

i got this spyware thing recently. at random moments, it will have pop ups and it is a custom notification on my toolbar on my desktop. its always flashing, tellin me i have a virus/spyware, when really, the virus/spyware i have is that notification thing. the pop ups tell me to buy their anti virus programs.

dont tell me to download antivirus/spyware remover software. thats one of the problems…

i already had norton antivirus, it has always worked, its up to date and renewed, its fine, its norton’s best program but when i do full system scans with it, it says i have NO viruses/spyware when i obviously do because of the pop ups and notifications.

so…i download some other trustworthy scans and anti virus programs and they are the same thing! they tell me i have no viruses or spyware or threats. the two programs i downloaded are AVG and Lavasoft.

tell me how to get rid of this virus or spyware i have. but DONT TELL ME TO DOWNLOAD ANOTHER ANTIVIRUS/VIRUS SCAN PROGRAM.
i have asked this question be4 but the only thing ppl tell me are "oh, download this program and use this, its better" ive tried 3 programs already and they all say i have no virus.

but i do! i get pop ups becuz of this notification bar.

how do i get rid of these pop ups and notification button. dont tell me to geta pop up blocker or anythign becuz i have tried 4 of those too. and i have a program that blocks spyware.

nothing works!

what is the best anti-virus/internet security software to buy for a new laptop? (not too pricey as I am a student!)

My anti-virus didn’t pick up this virus, even after multiple updates and scans. I know the date and general timeframe it started and am trying to find programs that were installed on my computer at about the same time. Any tips for how to find this thing and remove it would be appreciated.

The Anti-Virus is downloaded to my PC and I tried to download the Anti-SpyWare of the same brand as the Anti-Virus (Zone Alarm) and this error comes up that says "Cannot download because Zone Alarm Anti-Virus has been detected. Please call custumer service or remove the offending program."

Wgy is it doing this if it from the same brand?

how to remove anti virus xp 2008 from pc tried everything help asap

After I bought a new laptop I would use surfthechannel.com to watch shows & movies on my old one. About 4 months ago I think I got the virus Anti-virus 2009. My security page showed 100 threats detected, download this now for protection, & when I clicked to "X" it didnt close. I read about it online & was told to use Malwarebytes & I did. It did get rid of it, I think. Now it came back. Its only about once a week that it pops up, but I updated & ran Malwarebytes again & it still returns. I also ran AVG security scan, Spybot scan, & CCleaner. No threats were detected. I also get a Windows message saying " Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page" when I dont click anything. Advertisements always run in the back ground too. How can I get rid of it for good? & Is there a site that I can send a list of my registry to see if everything on there is ok? I know a little about computers but I can follow directions well. I only used my laptop for papers & browsing. I never download, burn CD’s, or play games. The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5002WLCi series. AMD Turion 64ML-30 processor, 60GB HDD, 512MB DDR, 802.11b/g wireless LAN. (whatever that stuff means). I would also like your recommendations on everything I would need for a solid security system, free or not. Thank you for your time. I appreciate it.

I had a virus, and it took me two weeks to recover and remove it. So now i wanna buy an Anti-virus program from stores such as best buy and target that works very, very well. What do you suggest i should purchase?
