I had a virus and it’s popping back up now and again
I also keep getting popups and ads randomly on pages and also loading up in new internet explorers (see link http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/4527/popupnv2.png )
Also, some of the popups are trying to get me to download spyware software (i already have some). I know full well of this being a scam as it is a trick by the hacker when he drops a virus in to drop stuff in to make you buy the stuff to get software which will "supposedly" remove the spyware.
Whilst typing this, it has reopened myspace i.m and 3 chatrooms without me telling it to do so.

Can someone PLEASE tell me what the hell this virus is! i’ve scanned and scanned and i keep getting attacked by stuff and its pissing me off.
For your information, in regard to the c++ one, it closes the explorer taskbar at the bottom and then reloads it a few seconds later
Also, internet explorer is slow
I have Webroot anti-virus program on my computer and it won’t get rid of the trojan virus I have. Why not? And is there a good anti-virus program I can download and keep for free?

if this really solves the virus and spyware problem without having to buy expensive software and it’s not one of those anti virus companies that make the viruses themselves
those who preferanother anti-virus program tell me also please tell me another free anti-spyware program that everyone trusts

My brother downloaded a game demo and it made my computer slow and now im getting pop ups to buy antivirus and anti spyware protection. The pop ups are gone now after i used AVG but now on the bottom right corner of my screen it says that my computer is at risk and that i should download a certified anti virus and spyware protector. How do i get rid of that because i know that eitehr spyware or a virus put that there. I used spy-bot search and destroy but it didnt find anything and i used AVG which cured the pop ups but im still getting the same sign. So what should i do now and should i go into safemode? please help and fast

I bought my son a cd software that is an anti-virus program. Can he install it on his computer, and then I take the same cd and install it on my computer? or is it a 1 computer thing?
just got a trojan adware.w32.expdwnldr virus which keeps popping up a system alert saying I have to pay for anti spyware to fix it. I’ve read that people have downloaded and removed it with spynomore, so i payed dollars did a full system scan deleted and removed any trojan viruses that were found. I’ve restarted the computer several times and also tryed different programs like kaspersky, super anti virus remove, registry cleaner, and trojan removed. Still no luck. All it really did was cut down on popups and the alert doesn’t pop up as much, but it still does. I want to get rid of for good! Please help me!
I just bought a new HP computer from Best buy and with the computer I got both Trend Micro Anti-virus and Spy Sweeper . When I start-up my computer sometimes it takes like 3 minutes for trend antivirus to load and sometimes it doesn’t even load at all and i have to restart my computer. When it loads everything works fine but the problem is it doesn’t load. I know both antiviruses are not that good but i don’t want to buy new antivirus software. Which antivirus should i uninstall?
I don’t know why but this anti virus 360 keeps popping up on my pc..I don’t know what to do, so I do not download it’s info. just click it off..can someone help me..thank you
I have the free edition of AVG anti virus it says it found them heals and removes them, but then the next day i get more? and also a good spyware one cuz im getting popups like crazy. I would rather not bring to a professional yet unless it gets worse.

Okay so I have AOL’s complimentary Safety and Security Center that contains anti-Virus and Spyware protection, but it refuses to update it’s definitions. We are still paying members of AOL, like I’m using AOL to connect to the Internet now, so idk what the problem is. But, the program itself has a yellow flag saying that both my virus and spyware definitions are out of date, and to update them, but when I click "Update Definitions" It just says that the definitions are updated, but they’re not!! And my Window’s keeps saying that it’s out of date also and to get new stuff.
So is there any way that I can manually make the definitions update or something? Or do I have to get new protection and buy something from Best Buy?
I tryed Webroot Spyware and I didn’t like it, it locked up on my computer for some reason.
So what should I do to fix my AOL one, and if it’s unfixable what should I use? What do you guys use/reccomend?

so i got norton the one my laptop came with but it said it expired
so i cant use anything on my laptop cuz its infected
can i buy an anti virus and install it???
will it still kill the virus even though it was installed after i got the antivirus
im kind of nervous too because everytime i open a file it doesnt open
and i think it will do the same to my antivirus i will install
any cheap ones u guys no of bcuz im just a kid
and i dont want my parents to get mad cuz they will be rlly pissed off

When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?
My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.
Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]
What are your suggestions?

How do I completely delete the old anti-virus before installing a new one?
I’ve removed the older anti-virus from my laptop through "remove program" option in the control panel. However, when I tried to install the new anti-virus using the installation disc I’ve just bought, it stated that the old anti-virus had not been removed yet. I’ve rechecked so many times but it didn’t work. The system requirements of my laptop are fine and compatible. So, what was wrong and how can I fix it?

I bought a used laptop that had an antivirus software in it already.Every time I check the date it expres it says the same day I log on except next year.Like When I checked it on August it was supposed to expire august 2010.Now that I checked on Dec 2009 it says it now expires Dec 2010.Is this common cause I was getting ready to get a free antivirus once this one expired.

i just bought a brand new computer—working fine— now i keep getting a message saying that the computer is infected! i see an icon for some "anti-virus system pro" program (which is sending me the message about the infection) opens up and scans the computer (listing all the "infections"), but when i try to open it or delete it from add/remove programs (from control panel) or even do a search of the files—nothing comes up for this program!
So when I bought my laptop i got kaperski anti virus version 7.0. Its time to renew and its giving me the option of the Anti Virus 2009 or the Internet security 2009.
What is better to use? I use the internet a lot for random things. Use hotmail email and check my back accounts and pay bills, what is going to give me the best protection?
This is my no.1 problem, how to remove trojan viruses? i try to download anti virus when i read "oh! its free, i hope this thing can help me to remove the virus." when i scan it, i click remove the viruses and it say’s that i need to register. when i register, oh god it needs a credit card. and i dont have ANY CREDIT CARD. Earlier today, my laptop got a virus. It made it so that nothing worked, and an Antivirus program has appeared that promises to fix it after I buy the full version for a lot of money. Obviously this is a virus, but I can’t fix it! It won’t let me download anything that can stop it, as it blocks my internet. And in safemode, and even networking safemode, I can’t seem to get internet either. I currently have it shut down and am using my families main computer, but I would definitely like to use my laptop again.
Two things you should know: I tried to use a flashdrive to download an anti-virus program, but it wouldn’t install. It said there was an error and couldn’t continue.
Also, I have looked for the Antivirus 2008 or 2009 file in Program Files, but it isn’t there.
I have tried all the methods that people have given for similar questions, and nothing is working. Please help! And, as I’m not very computer smart, I would appreciate it if you specified what modes I have to do things in (Safemode, normal, Networking Safemode, etc).

Well, I’ve now manage to download malewarebytes, and after a scan in SafeMode the virus still exists. Also, I feel I should add that in Normal Mode. Task Manager also does not work.
The virus seems to call itself "SWP2009". It also calls itself Antivirus System Pro.
