I got my new computer not too long ago and I don’t have any anti-virus software. Few days ago, I downloaded a songs from one web site where I use to and the anti-virus alert warned me that they found something that will steal our information from bank account and other purchased web site. It keep warning me per minute. What anti-virus software should I buy? It said your system might be at risk now. Any idea urgently please? I really appreciate it.

I have about 23 threats on my computer right now and i need them off! its messing with my computer. i don’t have the money to actually buy flat out an anti virus software. but are there any good free anti virus software that will REMOVE these threats off of my computer?! i really need this stuff of. i can already see it doing things to my system. oh and what is a good one to "buy" once i have the money anyway?
My uncle and I bought 2 laptops in the last 2 days..yesterday we went to best buy and bought PC Cillin Anti-Virus software(disk)..i was wondering if i will be able to use this software on BOTH laptops–both Laptops need protected..thnx (this question is under beauty because no one ever answers under the computer category, lol)
I use Anti virus software for many years.At first I was a big fan of Mcafee and Norton until I discovered Kaspersky.I try to scan a computer with Mcafee and it didnt found nothing.I tried with Norton and it only found suspicious cookie.
Then AVG found 5 virus and finally I tried Kaspersky. It was able to delete more than an 100 virus that other antivirus couldn’t find.
My only problem is that this software come from Russia, a country where international laws make local criminal laugh.Russians are among the best programmer in the planet on top before Chinese and Indians.They are the top coders and every years they beat north Americans,Europeans and chinese at problem solving competition.Most devastating modern computer virus come from russia.
All this make me scare that Kaspersky can be a spyware itself .and there is no organization that supervise softwares.I use it for a month,everything was great until the trial finish and I didnt purchase it.After that my computer became unsuable.
Have anybody had problem with Kaspersky after their long trial?Is there any U.S organization that study those foreign software to know if they are not dangerous for people?It look like its a very powerful anti virus and I would buy it but strange thing happend to me last time I use it.I want to be sure its not Kaspersky fault,anybody had similar problem?
Those answers are very reassuring but does Kaspersky allow Americans or any foreigner to examine their source code?Many software company refuse such possibility,Microsoft is among many like that.
Examining the behavior of a software cannot guarantee that the software isn’t smart enough to behave in an certain manner to avoid being detected.Some program are even able to recode themself to modify data.A complicate security software like Kaspersky can easily have power on the resource of a computer to modify anything,including itself.
I had already one anti virus software (Kaspersky Antivirus 7.0) installed on my PC. While I was searching some thing on internet, suddenly one window opens and askes me to install an other software to protect my PC from virus. I accepted that and the antivirus (Cyber Security) software has been installed on my PC. Now I want to remove it but I could not. Whenever I am trying to remove this antivirus software by using of add and remove program, it is always insisting to register and buy this software. Please let me know how to remove this software."

What is the best Anti-Virus software for a server, running 20+ computers. All with sensitive info about adopted children?
I’ve been looking at AVG. But.. I don’t understand the whole licensing thing.. I’d install the software on the Server (And control all the other comps) – and then what? Do I just buy ONE CD from AVG but with 20 licenses?

I need to install anti virus software. Before I buy anything I need to know what it is I already have that came installed on my Acer 3680 laptop.
At the very bottom of my desk top there is a little icon in the shape of a red shield. When I open this there are 4 items. Firewall, automatic updating, other security settings and malware protection. All are on except the malware protection. This is off and when I want to turn it on it says no virus protection software found and prompts me to find software. There I need to purchase anti virus protection package.
Now my main question is all that I have explained above, is this a partial package that I need to uninstall before I install new software?
I know that you can’t run two together or it will cause conflicts with the PC.
I tried to run Anti Virus 2009 that I paid 79.00 but it for some reason vanished from my PC. The Icon is there but when I try to open it I get a message
"can’t find program, it has been changed or moved".
With frustration I contacted the software manufacture for support and they were of no assistance to me what so ever. So I requested a refund which they willingly obliged.
Now I am at square one and need help. I am not a computer guru so please explain in layman’s terms.

I keep getting messages from an anti-virus program that I never even installed! Of course to get all their crappy warnings (along the lines of your computer will BLOW UP!) to go away, I have to go to their website and buy their product. I already had anti-virus software on my computer and when I run it, it says everything is fine….Is this a scam?
i am a Mircosoft Vista User 32 bit Operating System i have downloaded avg free anti virus protection but for some reason it is not turned on. windows security center says it is not turned on i try and turn on to no avail. Can anyone help me with this problem? and can anyone help me with the Kapersky website its not workingand should i just buy the software instead of using free anti virus software

separate program to do what the operating system should do anyway. Who cares if Norton or whoever the heck makes anti-virus software loses money, we shouldn’t have to buy their product to be protected online. Plus, the anti-virus companies have a vested interest in keeping viruses out there, because, if viruses ever ceased, there goes their business model. Who knows, they could be responsible for some of the viruses that are plaguing our computers.
Well, i had a norton anti virustrial with my laptop when i bought it and it expried like 2 months ago.
it still did some virus scan and stuff, but a thing came up like every 5 minutes to update the norton.
so i deleted the norton program, and it seems like my internet is running slower..
is it ok to have a computer without any anti virus software??

I was searching for some pictures on google image search until I saw a really scandalous celebrity image. In a fit of curiosity, I clicked on it and it redirected me to a porn site. I quickly stopped running javascript, went back to the previous screen and deleted my history. I’m worried though, that maybe my playstation got a virus/spyware? A few days ago I my anti-virus software (McAfee) detected and cleaned a Trojan on my computer. I scanned all my files and it found 3 more infected files, which we causing me to have numerous popups on my computer. I’ve scanned my computer probably 10 times in the best 3-4 days and although it says the system is clean I’m still getting popups and my computer’s acting weird. My McAfee will not open, and when it finally does, it won’t enable virus protection or allow my system to be scanned. When I open my computer’s history, I see links that claim to be internet pages that appear with the title ‘NDrBC’ and usually comes with a number (1-9) following the ‘C’. For example, one file is NDrBC3.tmp. It says this file is stored on my local disc in my Local Settings under ‘Temp’. I am pretty sure this is a virus, can anyone confirm this for me? Should I try to manually delete these files, or should I buy complete new antivirus software, and what do you suggest? Price is not an issue. Thanks!
