I have a Trojan viruses or some… and someone suggested using spybot s&D for destroying it … but how do i do that? HOw do i remove the virus completely
Im on the internet all the time, playing with myspace and face book.
That’s about all I do. My son is on his computer with U-Tube all the time.
Couple years back I went out and bought a virus software back age, was insane price,
had the license for a year, and renewed for a few yrs after. And than it was done. And so am I with that.
So I’d like some advice on something reliable and totally free to USE (not just to download)
that will be good for ERRORS and BOTS/TROJANS on your COMPUTER & for your INTERNET browsing.
If you could recommend one for both virus and one for spyware, that is totally free to use –
I would so much appreciate it.
ThankHopeHopey
i want to buy spyware & virus protection i have 4 PCs in my home [ me and my family] between lap tops and desk tops. what is the best or best buy
I got infected with a trojan virus (unfortunately I don’t know which one it it) and I NEED to get rid of it. I’ve tried AVG, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Ad-Aware and none of them have worked. How can I get rid of this trojan? Without having to reformat my hard drive.
Someone please help! I recently got a virus on my computer that causes multiple ad’s on several tabs in IE and Foxfire to pop up, by the time i close them more have appeared. I have downloaded every virus scanner i can find and nothing is helping! If anyone knows how I can get rid of this, please help!!
Its called a trojan generic12.aovj i believe. thats what AVG told me. I have tried to remove it through there but it keeps coming back!
I have AVG & Spybot installed on computer
Other than AVG, Spybot S&D, Malwarebytes, and SmitFraudFix, what do you prefer?
I’m at a loss here, and I’m looking for some help to buy some time so I can use my laptop this afternoon..
Dell Vostro 1000 w/ Windows XP Home, 2GB Ram, SP2 was 23% free space, now ~ 65% free.
A couple of days ago my laptop started acting quirky — when trying to right-click files to copy, the folder / file would freeze, and then I would have to kill the process or kill explorer.exe to unlock it.
Yesterday, I tried booting up and the system would freeze solid, except my mouse, and if I clicked on things a few times, a loud system beep — all within about a minute of booting up. I played with things for about 7 hours yesterday, finally was able to do a system restore, then deleted all the apps I installed within the last week, ran several virus / spyware scans, cleaned up my registry, etc.
I also ran chkdsk and there weren’t any errors.
Now, I am a bit more stable, but it intermittently freezes up still. Additionally, when I open Firefox, it eats up about 1GB of memory within 10 seconds. I can get firefox to operate normally by completely removing it, then re-installing it, but after starting it a couple of times, it does it again.
I don’t think this is a Firefox problem, though, and I don’t think it’s a virus or bug, at least that I can see through log files, running processes, or through several different spyware / virus detection tools.
If anybody has a clue what might be causing this, and maybe a temporary fix to make the system more stable for a day or so, that help would be appreciated. I won’t suffer much / any data loss as I’m backing things up real-time as I use them now, but it’ll take me over a day to setup my PC, and I have to get work done today.
One more note: I am an exceptionally heavy computer user — sometimes the laptop is online for days at a time, and I actively use it 10+ hours most days. I usually have to format & reinstall the OS 2x a year (I treat my PC kind of like an aggressive pizza delivery-driver treats his/her vehicle), so it’s probably just due to use and abuse, but I’ve never run into these symptoms before, and maybe there’s a likely problem that I can fix temporarily until I have the time to wipe the drive clean and start over.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Had Win32/Heur virus , removed by using malwarebytes , super anti spyware , avg – in safe mode network. But trojan gone but have this site redirecting to survey site, or other false ones.
Have put on block list for now . But concerned and want to make sure i got rid of any issues. Malwarebytes comes up clean as well as "avg" ,& superantispyware. Any ideas?
-I was using my laptpo today for about 10 minutes, then it began to freeze so I didn’t do anything. Then when it "recovered", my desktop looked like this: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc257/qweenzfinez/desktop.jpg
-Since I’ve had this laptop (Christmas ’08), I never could do a System Restore. I’v tried, but it wouldn’t even open the System Restore window.
-I usually use Opera as my Web Browser, but since today, I can’t even open it.
-All I’m able to use is Windows Internet Explorer, and at the top of amost every web page,it infoms me that I have ’18 Trojans on my machine’. Look: http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc257/qweenzfinez/internet.jpg
-When I try to click on the link that’s @ the top of the pages, a little info box pops up informing me that "Your current security settings does not allow this file to download." (FYI: I never agreed to download anything)
-I KNOW for a FACT that I have Java Script enabled and everything, but for some reason, it’s telling me that because of my Internet Options, I can’t install the program.
-I can’t even see the images online.
-I’ve called ASUS (the company who made the laptop) & I keep getting a busy signal.
-I don’t know what number to call for Microsoft.
-I have ASUS EEE PC1000HD with Microsoft XP Home Edition.
-My laptop is very tiny, it doesn’t even have a CD slo or anything.
If anyone can help me i ANY way,I would really appreciate it.
My Yahoo is: Brianna91178

I literally cried when my laptop said it has a virus.
I’ll TRY to buy ny programs or whatever.
I don’t have much money (I’m only 16) to buy anti-virus software, but I’ll save for it if I have to.
Please help me..
Ok, my computer is all screwed up, or so i think it is. run a Windows defender scan and it says i have a Severe Trojan virus called: Trojan:Win32/Vundo/gen!L and i press "apply actions" a window then pops up saying that it needs to send some info to Microsoft to gain information about the things to further the effectiveness of windows defender. so i do send the information and it says it encountered a problem "one or more actions could not be completed successfully". So i check for updates as it recommends and there is none. great I’m screwed. so i then go to my McAfee and do a scan, the scan stops in the middle of it and shuts down the McAfee program Wonderful what now? So then i notice on Internet explorer that is i type something in to google say Myspace and click on the myspace link it directs me to a totally different site such as Elle magazine ?!?! i have no idea whats going on is that caused my the virus?
next i look up best Anti-virus softwares and find Spyware Doctor… and i just found out i have a shit load of threats and infections T_T
10 threats and 344 infections to be exact i have 2 highs, 2 mediums ,4 lows, and 2 "info & PUAs" great, great now im stuck.
ok now time to solve the problem what do you recommend me doing? buying a anti-virus software such as Spyware doctor?
please help thanks.
ps one of the things is a backdoor.agent?!?!
Dear all,
I just bought a Toshiba Satellite L450 Laptop (with Windows 7 Home Premium) from Best Buy 2 days ago. I setup the Norton Anti-Virus, setup the Wifi, changed the theme to make it feel more like my own computer, etc. Once I did all these things I then continued to use the laptop for a few more hours to check email, facebook, myspace, played a game, then shut the system down. When I shut it down, Windows restarted, then a screen popped up stating "Windows Preparing for Configuration". After this screen stayed on for a few hours, I manually shut it down.
In the morning, I turned on the laptop like normal, and again the screen stating "Windows Preparing for Configuration" came up again, and has been on this screen for about 2 1/2 hours now.
Is this normal??? I asked a friend about it and he suggests that since its brand new and I hadn’t restarted the computer once I loaded all the programs & internet, that the system just needs to boot up everything properly. When I talked to Toshiba tech support, they said that its is normal to take up to maybe 1 hour, but they have never experienced a customer waiting for over 2 hours.
Is there something I did wrong?? Yesterday I had to take care of a small tracking cookie w/ Norton Anti-Virus. Also I’ve added some programs from Adobe Suite 2.0.. could that have something to do with it??
Please Help! Any information is appreciated!
I am frustrated, I have been infected with a Trojan Conhook, & WINTRATBHO.. I have tried every tool available. I personally would like to sue this company for my time & frustration & its attempt to "Blackmail" us into buying Their product to remove the virus THEY Installed.
ANTISPYWARESUITE. www.antispywaresuite.com
Are there any current patches or resolutions to these hideous attacks? They ruined my Other laptop. This is not the system that is Infected to my knowledge.
They hijacked my IE Browser, I constantly get a message about "working Offline"
I personally feel these types of Malware companies that force people to buy & use their software should be accountable for the destruction, frustration, time & effort used to get rid of THEIR worms & viruses. I’d love to join a Class action lawsuit.
My desktop computer is infected with spyware. It has this Total Security 2009 installed on it and i never put it on there. I have Norton 360 on the computer & I can’t open it because it’s infected. There isn’t much that I can open because everything is basically infected. I can open my internet explorer but that’s basically it. I can’t even start up in safe mode. My parents bought a new virus and spyware protection for the computer but it’s not installing. Anyone know of anything I can do?
When I used a program to read how much of my 495 mb sdram is currently being used by the programs i have running in the background of my windows xp.
It showed that about 80% of my ram is currently being occupied by programs running in the background. Is this too much?
My computer is "stucky, not smooth" lately. I’ve checked with spybot and ad-aware there’s no spyware on my laptop. Also ran anti-virus and there’s no virus. I’ve cleaned my harddrive and registry with CCleaner and Ashampoo win optimizer. Lately, happened couple of days, i couldn’t even use my web browers[IE & firefox] to visit any websites! though i know i am connected online with my isp.
Could the 80% ram usage be the source of the problem? Also harddisk is 56Gb in total and now only about 6 gb freespace left. I’m running on Intel M processor 1.6 GHz. win XP sp3. Had the laptop for 6 years.
[side note: system went 'dead froze' several times [about 20? ] over the course of my 6 years usage. whenever that happens i just had to unplugged the power chord to turn off system abruptly without going thru proper ‘ turn off ‘ button in windows. Also had a few very hot summers so laptop couldn’t stand the heat so it auto ‘turned off’ by itself. though now bought the laptop fan cooler. Not sure if these conditions will damage the physical hardware of the system, but i hope it doesn’t…..]
What are your suggestions?
Only answer if you know the answer.
Thankyou very much.
I’m trying to find a software to clean my computer without erasing important or vital information the computer needs to function. I have tried some of the so called free dowloads but they just scan & tell you that you have so many infections I would like to find one that actually would get rid of the infections & let you see if your computer actually works better afterward. That would be the true test to see if you’d like to buy a product or not.
I am looking for free online virus & spyware removal. Old Computer with 200Mhz 128 MB 7 GB and Windows 2000 Professional Editon. I check with AVG Free or Avast or Avira none of them support my system therefore i have look for online program. The system is used for business. Wireless Internet Connection with another hotel.
I’m getting one of those annoying pop ups that looks like windows firewall telling me that I have a virus. When I click fix, it sends me to a webpage to buy antivirus software but from some unknown company. I’ve ran mcafee after updating it, and it finds nothing.
Also, when the popup came up, i went to task manager and selected the task, then selected "go to process" and it was fcluavg.exe. I did a search on that with no hits. I then selected "show file location" and it was in a folder in my %appdata folder but it wouldn’t let me delete it.
Do I need to get a different antivirus program?
I have never ever EVER clicked on anything related to Spyware, and one day Spyware Guard 2009 just so happened to show up on my computer and JUST WON’T GO AWAY.
I tried deleting it, removing it from my computer, emptying out my trash bin, restarting my computer, and all that good stuff.
And still, it remains. Literally every 10 seconds SOMETHING from Spyware will pop up and won’t go away unless I click it, only to return again. It’s a constant annoyance and it freezes up my computer all the time, causing me to have to restart.
Today, MS AntiSpyware 2009 popped up trying to "help me" block Spyware, scanning all my files, and is basically doing the same exact thing to me. It’s CONSTANTLY popping up, and I have to give permission every time I try to go to a different page on the internet. It’s not helping me. If I try to give in to the AntiSpyware, it just tells me to buy it. :/ Uh, I think not.
I previously had McFee. It worked without complaints, but ever since Spyware came along, McFee is nowhere to be found. I think the Spyware got rid of it.
I’m more than positive that this is a virus. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to solve this and finally rid myself once and for all of Spyware and it’s "AntiSpyware"?!
I’m creating this page to let everyone know how to get rid of the Virtumonde/Vundo Spyware/Virus. Its a really nasty program and all the popular spyware/antivirus programs all seem to have problems removing it completely. Below are the 100% free tools and software I used to scan and remove the infection when I had it:
ComboFix
Download Link: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
VundoFix
Download Link: http://vundofix.atribune.org/
VundoBeGone
Download Link: http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/VirtumundoBeGone.exe
Spybot Search & Destroy
Download Link: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware
Download Link: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Download all of these tools, update them, and use them. It is very important that you use ALL of these tools and not just some of them. If you don’t use every tool there is a high possibility you won’t completely remove the Virtumonde/Vundo spyware/virus!
If you get any .dll type of errors when your PC starts up (after you have used all the above listed tools first) then you need to find a support forum on the internet and post a HijackThis log and people will help you.
So far I have scanned with Adaware, Spybot search and destroy and Mcafee virus scan.
Mcafee keeps popping up this message saying it found a file "byxywwu.dll" a trojan Vunda and it can not be cleaned.
Well, I can not figure out a way of deleting this file.
These popups keep coming up saying I have "spyware or virus" and trying to direct me to a site to by their crap to remove it. I know that is a scam
Please someone help me, how in the **** can I get this off my computer.
I’m just amazed that Mcafee can not remove it.
Well first off we have had this old computer maybe since i don’t know 2001 and its a nice one.. its a Windows Xp made in 2000. Well we needed to have an anti virus software on the computer, so we decided to get Webroot and it’s a really good virus protector. But the problem is we bought "Webroot Spysweeper AntiVirus" And so we had installed it, and now about two months later we realize after amost 12 scans that it hasent been sweeping for viruses. So we relize that it would not let us click the option to scan for viruses or any of the enableing, Do you have to add anti virus to the subsciption? Is this software supposed to come with antivirus protection, or do you have to subscribe because we have gone to the page wear it asks you what you want to buy, so it says it is 10 dollars but I still want to know?
I know that but we bought it from best buy for 40$
it is getting so bad that i can’t even watch videos on itunes b/c it doesn’t run smoothly. i have defragged, used the disk cleaner, deleted the files that i don’t use, checked for viruses & spyware & adware, uninstalled the old games & mp3s & documents that i don’t use. what else can i do? it is about 4 years old & i don’t expect it to be like a brand new computer but this is just ridiculous.
btw i don’t have the $ to buy any programs or anything to do it so don’t recommend that.
its a gateway
I was recently swarmed with a severe malware oriented virus that no matter how many spyware/antivirus oriented programs/software I bought like Norton Antivirus (which I was told for 80 bucks is crap) but I guess I went with the old adage I get what I pay for and then I bought Trend Micro (was also told by the best buy sales associate that it rivals NAV) but it still didn’t help. So I pretty much stripped the 5 year old HP Pavilion desktop that I had back to factory settings, knock on wood the icons are ridiculously HUGE but its been 3days and I haven’t had a whiff of pop up/spyware crap come my way (yet), though my Windows XP was restored to factory settings.
So what can I install on this system so I don’t end up with another Vundo/malware oriented Trojan. I don’t want to install my NAV Antisecuirty software pacakage b/c I was told it was crap & now I can’t seem to trust the generic TrendMicro, so now what do I install so this computer combats any/all update troublesome viruses Thnx
Okay, so this afternoon I want to buy the AVG AVG Anti-Virus & Anti-Spyware this afternoon, but I would like some reviews if anyone has to links to any, or has had Any Experience with is.
Thanks!!!
I want to BUY it so I at least I know I am covered and don’t get "Well your using the free version so…blah blah blah."
its almost 1 month now… i have this virus called quicktime.exe and x.exe the AVG antivirus and SpyBot S&D keep detecting and removing it but still… it seems that this virus is immortal… many expert on the forum i visited that once infected by a backdoor trojan the only way to remove it is to format the pc… there must be a way to remove it, pls help…
