I have never ever EVER clicked on anything related to Spyware, and one day Spyware Guard 2009 just so happened to show up on my computer and JUST WON’T GO AWAY.

I tried deleting it, removing it from my computer, emptying out my trash bin, restarting my computer, and all that good stuff.

And still, it remains. Literally every 10 seconds SOMETHING from Spyware will pop up and won’t go away unless I click it, only to return again. It’s a constant annoyance and it freezes up my computer all the time, causing me to have to restart.

Today, MS AntiSpyware 2009 popped up trying to "help me" block Spyware, scanning all my files, and is basically doing the same exact thing to me. It’s CONSTANTLY popping up, and I have to give permission every time I try to go to a different page on the internet. It’s not helping me. If I try to give in to the AntiSpyware, it just tells me to buy it. :/ Uh, I think not.

I previously had McFee. It worked without complaints, but ever since Spyware came along, McFee is nowhere to be found. I think the Spyware got rid of it.

I’m more than positive that this is a virus. Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to solve this and finally rid myself once and for all of Spyware and it’s "AntiSpyware"?!

Go to "My Computer" and search files with the word "Antivirus". Delete it all. Restart and see what happens. You could also change the settings of the search to include hidden files and stuff.

To get better results, boot your computer in Safe Mode first, then do the search.
Boot in safe mode by restarting the computer, pressing F8 while it’s loading and then selecting "Start in safe mode".

This worked for me when I got rid of a SpyWare program.

    Hi,

You are right. McAfee is useless. I had the full security with them and got infected but you can’t believe that the solution is free!

Use the Malwarebytes 2009, it’s free and you don’t need to purchase the full version (mostly the full version comes with automatic updates which you can do that manually!)

You can download it from http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

To be honest I don’t know why Mcafee charges 120$ for the system while it’s not even working!

Also this youtube will show you step by step how to remove it.

An Anti-Virus is no good for the Malware that your computer is infected with. Download, install, update and scan with Malwarebytes. You can get a free copy from http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html . If you can’t get to that website you might have to download it on another computer and put it on a USB stick or burn it to cd and then install it on your computer.

If it hasn’t disabled your Task Manager, try to find it in there under the Processes tab, and highlight it, then click End Process.
This will help stop the pop-ups and you can download some of the suggestions on malware already given.
I used malwarebytes, followed up with spybot search and destroy, then ran a registry cleaner. It got rid of whatever spyware it was (can’t remember the name).
You can get them at http//www.download.com, or http://www.majorgeeks.com

http://www.ccleaner.com is a free junk & registry cleaner.

There is a free utility called spywareblaster. It doesn’t clean spyware, but it can help stop stuff from downloading to your comp in the first place.
