i have been renting to own a pc laptop and i hate it! if i finished buying it (because i have put WAY to much into it now!) and then sold it and bought a different one, which should i get…
i really love the macbook, but i have heard they are hard to get use to is this true, should i just try another laptop…
i have an hp pavillion dv7 now, i use to have a dell and i like the hp better but i keep getting viruses and stuff messing up or slowing down my computer, i am SO tired of it! i really love the idea of a macbook but i know that it is not easy to find some programs for the mac…
if you are a mac user, do you like it? is it easy for you to find programs? is it more expensive for those programs? and also how long did it take for you to get use to the interface?
anything else i need to know???
haha i know…i am not looking to do this until i find a job (which may be a while) but i am a very ocd person, i have to plan and plan months in advance!
i just finished with school and that cost me ,000 so i wasn’t able to afford anything expensive…
i know the mac does get viruses but not hardly as many as a pc does, and so far i ahve really disliked windows, and the macs i have used i love!
i want something that will be good for traveling, i really enjoy traveling and i plan on doing it more once i get a job. but a 17", 8 pound laptop is not really ideal for traveling with it! idk maybe i will just buy and ipad–you know the new one, and keep my klunker!

That’s the problem with rent to own… buy the time it’s yours, you’ve paid too much. And if it’s not yours, you feel like you’ve wasted all that money. Rent to own is a huge scam.
Anyway, why do you love the Macbook? if it’s only because it looks shiny or you like the commercials, do NOT get a Mac. The commercials are full of propoganda and I’ve seen too many people get suckered in by the propoganda and then hate their Macs after they buy them. Or people who buy a Mac and then just install Windows on it.
Also, since you are on a rent-to-own plan, I assume you don’t exactly have tons of money laying around. Macs are ridiculously overpriced. You’ll get a FAR better computer putting the same amount of (or even less) money into a PC instead of a Macbook.
And you’re right, if you’re used to Windows, the switch to Mac OS is annoying (but not impossible). Also Macs do have a limited variety of software and are plagued with compatibility programs (so your essay written on a Mac potentially won’t be readable on a PC). However, there are ways around this and there’s enough software out there to do most things. It’s just that 90% of all software is written for Windows so you don’t have quite as much software available.
And since you mentioned viruses, I just wanted to tell you that Macs can and do get viruses.
Edit: There’s this myth that Apple creates all the hardware for their computers. This is not true. They use Intel CPUs, nVidia video cards, etc. Even the laptop manufacturing itself is often outsourced. That hardware still needs drivers and some peripheral manufacturers don’t even bother to write drivers for Mac OS.
Every Mac uses Mac OS X as an operating system. Mac OS X is the most easy to use operating system available. It is however not compatible with software intended for Microsoft Windows and the other way around, which is the most important thing to keep in mind. Mac OS X is based on UNIX. There are hardly any viruses for it around. Being based on UNIX and hardly having any virus threats, make Mac OS X more safe out of the box than Microsoft Windows. Microsoft only creates the operating system, Windows, and not the hardware. The hardware is indeed created by companies such as Dell and HP. This means that Microsoft Windows requires third party drivers to work. Apple creates both the Mac as well as Mac OS X, so there is no need for third party drivers. This makes a Mac more stable and since Mac and Mac OS X are designed for each other, Mac OS X runs very fast and smooth, eventhough Apple only refreshes its hardware every 200 days or so on average.
Macs are not hard to get used to at all.
It’s also not difficult to find programs for it.
I used to be a huge Windows fan back in the day and had no problem figuring it out and no problem finding equivalent and often better programs.
Your only obstacle is going to be the price. At $999 for a basic Macbook, someone that is doing rent-to-own may have a hard time swinging it.
