you don’t need to buy anything. just download avast, and spybot from download.com, install them, and that should help. also you could reinstall the operating system. just back up all your files first. and no, it won’t say where the viruses are from.
Antivirus software will only make your computer slower.
It shows what files contain viruses when you scan for them.

Also, the infected files are shown when scanning- try running and scan and locking your computer or something so your dad can’t see…
No they just deal with them on the fly most of the time or quarantine them while doing a manual scan, most come from websites, downloaded software from limewire, torrents, Java Content on web pages, free screensavers etc, and because you the user allow them without really knowing your doing it. Best are the later Norton Internet security after 2009, Kaspersky Internet security 2010. Always use in conjunction with malwarebytes on demand scanner for maximum effect.
Generally there is a quarantine list that shows where they are located, I’m not sure about where they came from though. I highly recommend ESET NOD 32 Antivirus for viruses, Spyware Doctor from pctools.com and they have antivirus software as well but ESET is simple and doesn’t harass you. I would also recommend malware bytes for rogue attacks that are most generally what slows down a computer. Anything else you need help knowing about just message me if you can.
I don’t think anti-virus will show source of previous viruses, but it can protect your computer in future and warn you about unsafe websites
