I need help! I have an HP laptop that doesn’t seem to wipe out trojans since everytime i use malwarebytes, another one pops up. I plan on buying another laptop tomorrow since this computer coming apart anyways. Will viruses travel through this internet connection?

If I remove this infected laptop and replace it with a new laptop, will viruses come through? I’m using a Toshiba Modem with Earthlink as my ISP.

    - tweak the hosts file in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
    - there are many sites regarding how to tweak the hosts file, which prevents your browser from entering known sites that have viruses and malwares. you can start with this: http://everythingisnt.com/hosts
    - download freewares like spybot – search and destroy, spyguard, spywareblaster and adaware. you need to install, update them and apply them. if you just install them, without using them, they are useless.
    - set pop up blocker settings to high and add which sites you like to have your pop ups

    - and install an antivirus with realtime scanning. avg and avast are freebie. trend micro is better, but it isnt free.

No. By no means. Viruses attack your computer, but they don’t attack the modem or infect your internet service provider. Just be careful what you download when surfing the net and use caution when visiting websites that may be malicious. It is also an extremely good idea to get McAfee Virus Protection and install it on your computer (Wal-Mart). If not, at least download siteadvisor for free at http://www.siteadvisor.com/
