New Laptop Problem, i bought new dell studio 17 laptop. But my internet explorer still takes time to open with/without internet.
Dell Studio 17 inch screen, 4gb ram, 500 gb hard drive, intel core 2 duo T-6500m, processor speed 2.1 ghz, Windows Vista premium.
Now my problem is that internet explorer or firefox still takes time to open, infact its the same as my desktop which is 1gb ram 80gb hrd drive and 2 ghz . Now i asked the geek squad or technicians in best buy and he told me that there is some super fetch thing in new computers so he said it will be abt a month for my laptop to get use to what I do i.e i work on multiple explorers(5-8)and couple spreadsheets. NOW i don’t what should I do? will it really make or real fast after a month or so, but what it don’t.
SHOULD I WAIT OR SHOULD i RETURN AND GET SOME ELSE, COS I CANNOT RETURN AFTER 14 DAYS ARE OVER. please HELP TO MAKE TO MAKE A DECISION.
And if i should return it what kind i should and with what specification.
Be free to be subjective and tell in detail whats going on.
internrt explorer/ fire fox does take time but not really long time. Point is that my 1gb ram take same or almost same time . and I was expecting that 4gb would be real fast.
and I dont want to buy anything expensive than this cos those are for gamers of artists ..but all i need to open multiple explorers fast.
I also installed kaprasky anti-virus but was told it does not make computer slow as compared other anti-viruses in the market.

Dells are horrible for coming with a lot of pre-installed programs that add lots of extra processes for windows.
The first thing I do for people I know who buy computers from the store is delete all the crap they aren’t going to use. Everything that has a desktop icon on your computer is potentially a program that opens at least somewhat on start-up and is eating your system resources.
If you know enough about your system, clean out your start-up folder, go to the add-remove programs control panel and remove everything you don’t want to use, and check your windows tray (the little thing at the bottom-right of your taskbar), to see if there’s stuff there you don’t need and find and delete it.
That should help a good bit by clearing up a lot of the stuff your computer is running in the background and make more memory available for the stuff you actually want to use.
Try safe mode. If faster delete startup stuff including all yahho, google bars, and antivirus programs. Anything in startup menu. If no luck, return the box and get something with free upgrade to windows 7, because Vista sucks.

honestly i would get a mac kind of funny that i am writing this on a pc but mac will almost never have that problem. just research mac and it will sell itself. and you wont get viruses so no need for a anti virus program i hope i have helped your decision making or if i made it worse i am super sorry good luck
It’s not always the RAM which makes programs run faster. Usually Internet explorer takes more time to load. But on the other hand FireFox is little bit faster. Changing the laptop won’t do any good. But over the time with the cache memory the performance should increase little bit.
If you really need faster performance look at the RPM on the hard drive or you can buy SSD drives. SSD’s are super fast.
