A little while ago I got the Spyware Guard 2008 virus, and after reading many articles and guides on removing it I installed Malwarebytes and CCleaner. Then I went into the Windows XP Safe Mode and scanned, removed and restarted the computer about 5 times, each time it would find the same Spyware files again. I don’t know why it is not fully removing the malware because I have heard of some many good removals with this program!! Either way I am getting very frustrated. PLEASE ANY ANSWERS ARE VERY APPRECIATED!!!

Well i would say that none of the above answerers has

read your Q properely because if they had they should

tell you the following………If Malwarebytes is removing

Spyware Guard 2008 and it returns after rebooting then

there is only one reason ….Its residing in system restore.

Turn off system restore….scan with Mbam and remove

Spyware Guard 2008 again …..then after checking that it

has not returned, turn system restore back on and create

    a new clean restore point.

Please, listen to me and I guarantee you that this will remove all viruses from your computer, here is what you need to do in order to remove this virus :

    1. Download and install Kaspersky Antivirus, just make sure to update it after the installation process ends ( it will require to reboot your computer ) and after the update ends run a full scan.

    http://www.downloadbestsoft.com/Kaspersky-Antivirus.html

    2. Download and install SpyBot Search & Destroy, again make sure to update it after installation and again run a full scan of your computer.

If this fails, do a backup of your files and re-install your computer, you won’t be able to remove it unless you are an expert, but I assure you that doing like I told you, you have a 99 % chance to remove the virus. I know because it worked for me.

the problem with this virus is that it not only infects your computer, it also redirects your search results from google, yahoo or any other search engine to random sites. This virus also doesn’t allow alot of anti virus or anti spyware programs to run. Ive tried the deleting method, where u delete all files associated with the program but it ALWAYS returns. I dont understand whats happening with this thing.

everyones got these long drawn out guides for removing these rogue programs. screw all that. i would only do that if i wasnt able to access the internet. if you want an easy solution to this bastard then download stopzilla from stopzilla.com. it kills this one with no problems. its not a free program but after the scan it will show you it has quarantined it and it wont be affecting your system anymore. then of course its up to you to buy it. I’ve been using this product for over 2 years and there hasn’t been anything it couldn’t stop. I’m a paid subscriber myself. if you can live with a nag screen (meaning they want some money) after bootup then this is your easiest solution. i suggested this to someone else and told him that if you uninstall it, maybe it will take what it has quarantined with it upon uninstall. he chose me as best answer and gave me a 100% rating. as to whether or not he uninstalled the program and it took what it quarantined with it upon uninstall i dont really know. for all i know he liked the program and kept it. he didnt really say. the price is reasonable though only 20$ after mail in rebate.
