I have a free program installed on my computer to search for all the spyware and I want a program that will remove it and I also want a program to protect my computer. Would it be safe to install a program to remove my spyware if I already have spyware on my computer? If not, what should I do to get rid of it that I can do at home? Also, what anti-virus program should I get? I want one that has anti-virus protection, spyware protection, etc.

Installing an anti-spyware or anti-virus program after your PC already has one or the other shouldn’t have any adverse affect on the install.

    Some good free programs include:
Spybot: Search and Destroy, which you can download here – http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
and Adaware, which can be found here – http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Another piece of software that people recommend, though I’ve never personally tried it is AVG. It can be found here – http://free.grisoft.com/

Also, if your computer can handle it, try running numerous anti-virus and anti-spyware clients at once – It generally helps to clear out the more persistent and malicious stuff.

    Hope it helps!

Hi Cheer, You can have to much protection and this will cause a problem with your PC and it will slow down and can freeze-up on you.But if you want a good anti-virus,spy ware protection get SPY SWEEPER it is very good. I run a check once a day and you wouldn’t believe all the crap you pick-up on the Internet. It does a good job for me and i really like this program. Lol
