I want to buy Norton anti virus but not sure if its better to purchase the software and install it in my PC or just subscribe antivirus service from my verizon provider. (cost a month)

if you want antivirus use a free one,
if you want internet security, buy norton 360. i use it and not bad. you can use it on 3 computers, so if you only have one computer you could share it with 2 mates.
