There are free anti virus programs you can use.
AVG:

Avast:

Depending on the type of virus you will determine if you can install after its been infected and if it will be removed.
—> HOW TO PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM VIRUSES
I have an unorthodox strategy for dealing with computer viruses. It doesn’t involve the use of firewalls or anti-virus software. But if everyone understood the simple virus safety tips I’ll outline here, the virus writers would get very bored very quickly.
Sooner or later you WILL receive an email that contains a computer virus. Perhaps you got one today with M-y-D-o-o-m attached. But if you understand a few simple concepts about email and viruses, there is really nothing to worry about. I’ve been using email for twenty years, and I receive hundreds of messages daily. Even though I get viruses in my inbox every day, I’ve NEVER been affected by one.
If you take a few minutes to read and apply the following concepts to your own email handling, you can have the same protection and peace of mind without buying any expensive anti-virus software. (There ARE some good reasons for having anti-virus protection, and I’ll mention those later.)
It depends upon the virus…How deadly it can be…I recommend use a free version like Avast…or use a trail version of Quick Head Total Security. Try to clean it and then buy which ever you like.
if you have XP or later OS you may be able to use:
Microsoft Security Essentials

Well to save you some cash try to install AVG. It’s free anti-virus software. It’s not the greatest but it may get rid of your problem. Also if you install new anti-virus software, often it can locate and get rid of preexisting virus’. It just depends on the virus. Try AVG till you decide to go and buy some…you may not have to. Good luck.
there’s a website called download.com that you can get a free anti-virus program. It’s called AVG and make sure you download a free version. it works. If you can’t access internet on your laptop. I would buy a 2G external hard drive and download it from the library and then install it into your laptop. The external hard drive doesn’t cost that much…i think it’s about ten bucks.
First be relax.. in this world every problem has a solution. Ya you can still install an antivirus on your laptop and remove/delete virus from your laptop. There are many sites providing free antivirus i.e freeware.com, download.com, filehippo.com . There are many antivirus in Market like Avira, Kaspersky, Awast, Bit deferender, Mccafe , AVG. I would prefer AVG and Kaspersky from all of them .
Firstly download the antivirus, Update the anti virus if required. Restart the system in safe mode and scan your system with your antivirus and then delete/move your virus from system.
If any query still in your mind you can comment my on my tech blog given below
Try running the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool. The tool might find the virus, but the tool is really designed to find and remove only a small number of malware programs, and the virus might not be on its list.
You have to log in with an Administrator account.
