I had my laptop connected to the internet while my desk top was being worked on and now that I have disconnected my laptop I can’t do anything on it. While it was connected my aunt tried to install an anti-virus program on it but now I can’t even remove it from my computer. It won’t even let me go to the add/remove program thing on the control panel.

Maybe. But you don’t need to buy anything as that’s the exact same answer I’d give if you’d asked me about free software.

Here’s what I use on my computer:
    avast! – anti-virus
    ZoneAlarm – firewall
    MalwareBytes – anti-malware
    Spybot S&D – anti-spyware
    SuperAntiSpyware – anti-spyware
    AdAware – anti-adware

    yes.
but it have to be bought from a real store and not one of those pop up site that’s telling you you have virus.
updating your operation system is also necessary.

Ya depends what program what kind of virus and if you do it right =P

Maybe, but it has to recognize the virus and it may not. You might try one of the free AV programs, like AVG or Avast!.

It depends on the antivirus but usually just one doesnt work for all of them. Also are you sure its a virus? Hijackthis is pretty good for viruses.

Maybe, but it’s not a sure thing. Have you tried malwarebytes? It’s free at malwarebytes.org and I’ve had good luck with it. I’ve also had good luck with superantispyware.com.

There is no need to buy an AV. there are lots of great free programs out there.
Above all do NOT buy Norton!
