Hi,
I just managed to get the crss.exe virus from a torrent. This is a process running on my computer, and it has disabled all executable files on my computer. Therefore I cannot run any antivirus programs or any other executable program but Mozilla Firefox for some reason? Any executable file or program I try to run, it simply trys to open it in internet explorer and fails everytime. Any tips on removal?

Try this;
Update and use your own antivirus or download and update the PC tools free antivirus below and download the pc tools spyware doctor and update it,, then restart your computer (tap F-8 during startup) select safe mode and scan with both tools while in safe mode, This should find the problem so you can remove it;

try downloading bitdefender.and scan the computer
Sure.. invest in a proper security "suite" tht includes antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc and is from a reliable vendor (like mcafee or norton) and ensure it is properly configured and completely up to date (then reboot and run a complete scan with all programs shut down). This will remove most malware unless there is some manual procedures required and had you had proper protection you would not have become infected.
I would also suggest you make sure your OS is completely updated with windows updates security patches and use McAfee Site Advisor to advise you which sites are malicious.
If you cannot do this on your own I would recommend getting a reliable and qualified tech to do it for you.
Good Luck!
it may be best to reformat your computer…
get a removable hardrive to store your stuff in, and get the operating system disk, it will completely delete and restore everything on your computer.
Try using your anti virus in safe mode.
