I’m new to all of this and would like some details on how to get free protection i can download, right now i have a free trial from norton and it will detect viruses if i do a scan but it will not remove any if any are found. So basically i want to know if there is anything free that will both detect and remove viruses? Thanks in advance.
you can have avast.avg, or avira.
they are all free (you can download from their respective sites) but i suggest the avira coz it has a higher detection rate among those three…

Make sure to uninstall Norton before installing Avast.

I have used Norton Internet Security for yrs. and find it to be the best, just installed the new 2009 version and all scans, updates etc are done in the back ground automatically.And yes it does remove virus and more. For the two best free ones: http://www.avast.com or http://www.freeavg.com
Never install more than one Internet Security program or it will cause a system conflict and problems.
