I have no money, but I’m in desperate need of a laptop. Please help.?
Long story short (and I won’t give you a sob story) I bought a few years old tablet-pc (laptop w/ stylus and turning screen) so I can take notes in class. I’m in highschool, taking (literally) the hardest classes available in the US. If you don’t know what the IB program is, Google it. I’m a senior IB Diploma student, and again Google that if you aren’t familiar with the International Baccalaureate program.
Anyway, sorry to draw that out but I bought this laptop, used it to take notes as a tablet pc and that worked great. Now it died and it’s going to cost me more than I paid to fix it.
Does anyone have a laptop they don’t need anymore? I can pay shipping, etc, whatever’s needed but I just don’t have any money to purchase another computer.
Believe me when I say this: I’m not picky at all. Also I can re-install Windows or remove a virus or something if it needs something like that.

I don’t know how to prove it’s not a scam. I mean, anything that anyone would give me isn’t probably gonna be worth selling now is it?
Now I know how the internet works and I suppose I should have expected this…regarding a job, has anyone here taken a look at the job market??
Believe me or don’t, I’ve looked for a job. I took economics last year; the economy is a pretty bad shape right now. Otherwise I think I would have a job and have bought a working computer by now.

If you find this offensive I’m sorry. I’ll see about pulling the question. I was just trying to see if, as people regularly upgrade their laptops, anyone had one they didn’t want anymore…possibly sitting in a closet or the like.

Wait until Black Friday to go buy your laptop. They will be super cheap at like Best Buy or Target that day/night.
Sounds like a scam. No one will give you a laptop for free.
If you’re desperate enough, you’d have a job to buy a laptop.
try posting on your local craigslist for older laptops that people may have lying around. if that doesn’t work you may want to ask around at school or have your parents ask around at work.

look on craigs list!!!people are always giving away or selling things cheap…but you will have to drive to get it. also, check goodwill stores or salvation army, or even a pawn shop

Get a job and buy an eeepc they are very cheap.
try looking at used, refurbished laptops, maybe ebay? Or Dell. I have an old crappy labtop, that takes notes and has windows word, that i never use.

You’re familiar with google, right? How about you google "Cheap laptops" and you will find plenty of refurbished ones for sale.

If you let as many people as you know, know that you need a laptop, eventually when someone is upgrading their, they often give you thier old one.
If that does not work, you should try looking cheap papers, but check that they are valid advertisements.

I mean, you are in such an advanced curriculum, you should understand the basics of economy… you work, you get money. You spend money on products you want.
You should understand that people want to be compensated for products they have, that have value. People also understand the value in the parts they have, for products that don;t function. This is why you see laptops for sale on Ebay that don’t work.

half-way down the list. Factory refurbished, starting at $259. Get a paper route. Get a part time job at McDonalds. Borrow money. Beg for it. Earn it.
Craigslist and ebay, trust me youll find a basic thinkpad for cheap as a hundred bucks and lower
You are not taking the hardest classes in the country. IB classes are nothing to be cocky about.
Laptop note-taking is for sissies. Pen and paper all the way.
check ebay .. i got an old one for $45 on there..it was crap but worked for what i needed it for
sorry 2 hear about bump n the road. u can use the money that u would pay 4 s/h go buy 1or2 cases of candy from sams, school is one of the best places 2 sell candy bars. I no u may not want 2 sell candy but this is one way paid 4 things when i was n school. hope this will help in some way.
better go back to notebook, paper, and pencil
