Yea sure…I couldn’t even get on internet explorer or my email accounts. My husband had to erase everything except my emails and bookmarks—everything else-gone! Is there another way of doing this without having to go to so much trouble? Now my daughter is having the same problem. People need to be aware that these ads are sneaked in on other websites and people just don’t notice them.

You people will hardly ever learn eh ? No matter how many times people like me repeat :

♣ You need good, daily updated anti-virus
♣ You need good, daily updated anti-spyware
    ♣ You need good firewall
♣ You need to perform weekly scans

You still wont learn. And you will keep doing same mistakes all over again for the eternity.

I dont think using System Restore is the right way. Rather save everything ( all your data, files, pictures, videos ) you store on C drive and copy it to a DVD or another drive. Then simply reformat the system. Its not hard, it only takes around 2 hours. Reformat is the best solution because when it comes that far – system files are already corrupted. With deletion of threats, some bits of system files will be deleted along them. That may result in corrupted programs and things not running that it should. Reformat will give you a fresh start…

    Once thats over, install :

    AntiVir Avira
    SUPERAntiSpyware
    ZoneAlarm Firewall

How to configure SUPER : http://www.ecuhq.com/tested-programs-how-to-use-f32/superantispyware-how-to-use-t121.htm

How to configure Avira : http://www.ecuhq.com/tested-programs-how-to-use-f32/antivir-personal-edition-classic-how-to-use-t143.htm

Thats the simpliest combination that is still effective. Tell that to your daughter now.

Hope that helped a little and gave you all a moral effect of some kind.

    Regards

first off go to start accessories, system tools and restore to the point before the virus happen. then go to start-right click my computer – go to properties and go to system restore. click off system restore. because the computer saves recent files on the computer even viruses. run the virus scanner again.

Yes. On google or yahoo search for the specific message or popup that you are getting. You will find information on removing these. It generally involves deleting registry entries and specific files on your machine.

Try system restore but quite often infections get in the sys restore so that may not work.

You could try tapping F8 on your PC repeatedly when you turn the PC on to get into SAFE MODE that may enable you to copy datayou want to save onto disc.

Trend Micro SYSCLEAN is very good at cleaning infected computers. its free

    http://www.trendmicro.com/download/emea/sysclean.asp?lng=en

then follow instructions to clean PC. you need to turn off your system restore to use it. Control panel>System>System rstore>uncheck box (in xp)

you should make sure you have a good antivirus package Kaspersky or McAffe are pretty good. and spybot is free and is pretty good too.
