I recently bought a laptop which had Norton Anti-Virus installed on it with 60 days free activation. Now that period has expired and I don’t want to extend it as I am using Avast.
But there is no option of uninstalling Norton anywhere.
How do I remove this software from my machine?

go to start-control panel- add remove programs and uninstall
First off, have you checked Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs ? It should be listed there – if not under "Norton" then as "Symantec". If you find it there, choose "Remove".
If it’s not there, go to C:/Program Files and check in the Symantec folder for an uninstall routine, something like "uninst.exe". If you find that, click on it to run it.
If all else fails and you really can’t find the uninstall option, go to the link below and download and run Norton’s removal tool. Even if you have found it and uninstalled it, it is worthwhile running this tool as Norton AV is notorious for leaving bits of itself behind.
