I’m having trouble with my laptop computer. I’m not sure if it’s a virus, but when it starts up, internet explorer windows automatically pop up and keep popping up without me clicking on them. I tried to look up antivirus downloads but everytime i do, it sends me to some sites where you have to buy the programs. As if the virus is leading me there. Is there a way I can clean the computer (laptop) using my PC? Can I download an antivirus program on my PC and use it on my laptop? It won’t seem to work. I turned off wifi connections just in case, but is there anything I can do without having to buy an expenssive cd rom?
Also, I tried activating the windows firewall because it was turned off, but it won’t turn back on so it’s hard for me to get a grasp or slow down whatever is wrong
You can try downloading the free version of http://www.malwarebytes.org/ on to a pen drive and then try to install it on the laptop.
Another option is to see if you can download http://www.malwarebytes.org/ in safe mode with your infected laptop.

Yes, it seems like virus inside. For scanning, definitely use your PC to download an anti-spyware program into it. After that, put it into the flash drive, like USB key or other, and then check the PC system from it.
For scanning, alternatively try Spyware Doctor. I was told to try this app when I had Cyber Security rogue, it really helped.
