I recently downloaded the trial version of Spyware Doctor 6 and ran a scan. The scanner picked up several trojan viruses and a Keylogging program. The keylogger was the biggest problem for me since i play World Of Warcraft. I pressed fix problems (or w/e it says on the program) and it tells me i must purchase the full version to remove the viruses/trojans/keyloggers etc. I do not want to pay 30$ to do so and im sure theres free programs that can do the same thing… i just havnt found any yet. I have spybot S&D and ran it. It caught/found no threats(viruses/trojans, etc.). Since it did not find the problems spyware doctotr did i cannot remove them ><. As you can see this puts me in a problem. I just ran a symantec antivirus Full Scan about 12 minutes ago so it should be awhile until its finished. All of the programs i used ( Spybot S&D, Symantec Antivirus) are all updated so there isnt anything that hasnt been added to the programs. I need 2 find a program like S. doc. but is free, ty

One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches. If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected. It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers). AV is ALWAYS reactive!

Larger companies are able to be more proactive in developing signatures for the latest threats. Every day, new viruses are created or morphed from old ones that a whole new definition has to be written for.
If you pay for your AV, your getting a PAID staff to stay on top of things. Free AVs have to go about other ways and enticements to get their money to survive.
well, i have 2 ways to do this:
the first is to get the himoglobin into the jam-disk. after that, remove the speakers, and plud in the flitters into the speaker whole. then take the spam or virus out by a rubber glove and place it into a plasticy baggy and put it in the sea/
the second idea is to ignore the first idea, go to best buy, and ask geek squad.

If all else fails back up data, reformat, and reload.
you can always go to http://www.download.com and download a free version of "Ad-Aware" and the free version of "Spy Bot Search and Destroy", run ad-aware first it will get the trojans and other problems, then use spy bot s/d, it should get the rest.

Key loggers are no joke if you or anyone has entered in any personal information on the computer, that all has been compormised now. which means your going to want to change all your user account and passwords from a healthy computer.
