(its not from a virus, its been like that this is like 4th yr having this laptop. & i have to turn it off. then push the power button to ‘restart it’. & since then i keep getting these pop ups bout having a virus, & it said something bout a virus on my laptop, but i noticed it was from the internet, internet EXPLORER, & i dont use that, i use mozilla firefox 3.5 . & i tried uninstalling internet explorer but i cant find the thing to unstall it anywhere on my comp! help!

If you got Windows XP try following the system restore steps on this site:
http://malwarecrusaders.webs.com/Removal/Removal.htm
Then run some scans.
Norton may have been tampered with by the virus or may have just expired. If it expired then uninstall it and get Avast for free. It’s much better.
Get rid of norton, get AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes anti malware. Get your dad or big brother or someone to install it and run it all for you. This will make your computer much safer, but please, please be careful on the internet and don’t click stuff that is sent to you by people you do not know and trust. This is the single most effective way to keep from getting viruses.
But anyway, like I said, get your dad or someone to install the softwares I told you about and run them for you. Good luck!
just reformat ur laptop then and install antivirus freeware. there are so many to choose from, avg, avast, avira, superantispyware just to name a few.
If I were you I would take it in to an electronic store and get them to take out all the viruses. It might cost money though. We took in our hardrive to get all the viruses off and it cost us a couple hundred. For a laptop it might be different though. Just take it in and ask what your options are and see if they can look to see if you even have a virus.
Is it time for a new laptop?
Edit: If money is an issue, which it is for everyone, then I suggest asking a professional what can be done. Call the maker of your laptop and ask what is the problem and possible solutions. Electronics are expensive and always eventually have a problem with them. Im sorry about it, I know your pain. Good luck
Get Avira or Avast for antivirus, both are free. Also get Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware for antispyware protection. All are free.

to uninstall internet explorer go to start then control panel then click the one that says uninstall/change a program. then go down the list and double click on the thing u want to uninstall.
ITs not that big a deal, i guess
Download Malware Bytes’ Antimalware
and Super Anti Spware
(don’t forget to update these)
do a scan with these in Safe Mode
Quarantine the entries found by them
Then do the same with Spyware Doctor and Spybot
(these 4 programs help removing threats fgrom your computer)
Do them all cuz one finds some viruses while the other finds something else….
I say take a time off for one day and get rid of everything in your laptop!
