  • Cows says:

Trojan horses are designed to allow a hacker remote access to a target computer system. Once a Trojan horse has been installed on a target computer system it is possible for a hacker to access it remotely and perform operations. The operations that a hacker can perform are limited by user privileges on the target computer system and the design of the Trojan horse itself.

Operations which could be performed by a hacker on a target computer system include:

Use of the machine as part of a Botnet (e.g. to perform Distributed Denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks)
Data Theft (e.g. passwords, security codes, credit card information)
Installation of software (including other malware)
    Downloading of files
    Uploading of files
    Deletion of files
    Modification of files
    Keystroke logging
    Viewing the user’s screen

The first thing you want to do is install and update malwarebytes and perform a scan.

    http://www.malwarebytes.org/

    Alternative: Spybot S & D

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

After that download the free version of Avast! Antivirus and install it.

    http://www.avast.com/

It will ask if you want to schedule a boot time scan. Say yes and reboot.
After that leave avast on your computer to protect you.

It’s best to just save all your work, pictures etc. and erase your hard drive, then start again. Even if you could remove the trojan with an anti-virus, (AVG free is probably the best) all computers (not computors) get slow with time as their OS gets filled up with junk.

I second malwarebytes. My brother was looking at porn and it got all kinds of crap on my computer. Did I mention I already had avg and norton installed on the computer. They could detect the virus but could not remove it. malwarebytes detects and deletes. Now I don’t have any virus protection, but I every once in a while when my computer starts acting crazy I run a scan with malwarebytes
