I have norton online security which doesn’t pick it up. the constant ads to buy this rogue software are driving me crazy and I can’t remove it. It changed my desktop back ground to (your system is infected). The adds keep popping up wanting me to buy this spyware product. Please HELP!
Actually, I suffered a similar problem just a few weeks ago. Ever since I solved it, I’ve been doing weekly check-ups on my computer for viruses.
Lavasoft has a anti-spyware/malware program called "Ad-Aware." The new anniversary edition download is here: http://lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_fr…
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware also works extremely nicely. Download that if you can.
Also, most Windows computers come with a free service called McAfee. There is a built in virus scan with the program. Use that to check for and get rid of viruses.
Last but not least, if you have a Windows Vista, use Windows Defender to scan and cure your computer for any harmful software.
