I got infected with a trojan virus (unfortunately I don’t know which one it it) and I NEED to get rid of it. I’ve tried AVG, Spybot Search & Destroy, and Ad-Aware and none of them have worked. How can I get rid of this trojan? Without having to reformat my hard drive.

This site gives some reviews on various Spyware and Anti Trojan Software.

Trojans normally get downloaded inadvertently when you think that you’ve downloaded something else. If you are in the habit of downloading any sort of free programs from the Internet the risk of picking up Trojans is high.

The best way to clean up your computer now is to get a good Internet Security program from one of the major vendors. They do free trials (30 or 15 days), so you can download it now, clean up you computer and then decide whether you want to buy it or not. The other advantage of an Internet Security program is that it will prevent this sort of thing happening again – the trojan won’t even get onto your PC next time.

Go to http://www.datadefender.net, look at the reviews and follow one of the links for the program you want. Best ones are Kaspersky, ESET and F-Secure in my opinion, but look at the reviews for the others and see what you think.

Hope you get it fixed – good luck!

You`ll have to find the name of it first – by scanning your pc – then type it into Google and hopefully you`ll find a way to get rid of it.

ouch those are the worst three you can put on your computer, im guessing ad aware is just going to make it worse….because it can give u trojan just by using it, and having that u have more than 1 antivirus on your computer basicly means, your computer will never be the same, unless you remove the antiviruses you have now then find 1 GOOD antivirus to remove all the problems in your computer, or atleast as many is it can, consult your comp nerd at a best buy or circuit city….they can help you..just please dont download more anitviruses because they all hurt your computer more than they help, its a propagranda thing basicly….so remember only one.

This whole thing is free………………………………… I have copied this whole list because you tend to have a virus and can’t remove it with your current anti-virus, OR i am displaying this because you have just told me that you use Norton, AVG, Macafee, or some other virus i do not recommend. but this is what i recommend: I am going to show you one of the very few working and good and working firewall you may use, i will give you a really good anti-virus that works really well and can detect 98% off all viruses, and updates nearly 4 times a week!. I will also give you immunizations to your computer/laptop that include immunizing your computer/laptop with anti-spyware to block it before entering your laptop/computer. You will get an antispyware which also is really good. I will also give you an adviser that will show you weather the site is potentially harmful or not. and one more thing a really good ANTISPYWARE xD_______________________________ For your Anti-virus needs I TRUELY recommend getting Avast! antivirus because well i had norton, switched to avg both found no spyware and viruses, but i tried Avast (download free edition from http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-... ) (you must also register the program for FREE at: http://www.avast.com/eng/home-registrati... ) and guess what i had over 80 viruses!!!!! that is why i recommend it. now i know AVG is REALLY popular, but i can guarantee you it has a really bad virus database…………………………….. ……………………………………. for your Anti-Spyware needs: you HAVE TO HAVE A REALLY GOOD ONE and that one is called: SUPERantiSpyware home edition (found at http://www.superantispyware.com ) ……………………………………. Now you need immunizations for future protections and a decrease in 70% chance of getting some kind of spyware. For that you may use Spyware blaster( found at: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster…. ) ………………. I also promised you a SITEadviser! for that i advise Mcafeesiteadviser (this can be found at http://www.siteadviser.com )…………………………………… And lastly i will give you a firewall. I deeply recommend using PC Tools firewall PLUS (That can be found here: http://www.pctools.com/firewall/ ) OR YOU MAY USE C.o.m.o.d.o firewall, but that is only if you are an advanced firewall user…………………………………… IMPORTANT NOTE: REMEMBER TO ONLY USE ONE ANTIVIRUS BUT U MAY USE AS MANY ANTISPYWARE PROGRAMS as you want. congratulations you are now equipped with the best protection you will need but getting those full versions might even get you to a better security level, but do not worry this is what i deeply recommend.
if u do a scan with all these, u should be able to restore your computer :)
