An adverstising company illegally installed a trojan downloaded from the internet that keeps opening as my home page when I lauch internet explorer. I have changed it and deleted the software from my programs hundred times already. It keeps re-installing itself. I even tried installing an antivirus software; however, it also has my D dirve locked where I can use it to install anything. So how can I get rid of it without purchasing the software that they are offering everytime their ad pops up. I can still surf the internet, but their ad keeps opening windows continually.

A lot of viruses sit in RAM, the registry and System Restore so deleting these can be quite time consuming but thankfully not impossible.
First of all turn off System Restore by right clicking on ‘My Computer’ > Properties > System Restore. Now enable “Turn off system restore on all drives” > click apply > click ok.
Re-boot your computer in Safe Mode – (achieved by pressing F8 continually during boot up) this should clear out the viruses in RAM and the registry. Now run your anti virus software and delete or quarantine any viruses found.
Re-boot your computer in normal mode and complete another virus check. If all comes back clean turn on System Restore.

The first step is determining the name of the trojan horse (if it is indeed a trojan).
Search online for manual removal instructions or a free utility for removing that specific virus.
Do not get any anti-virus software like norton or mccaffee, you can download a free virus scan and run it if you need to figure out the name of the virus.
Only buy antivirus as a last ditch effort if you can’t figure out how to remove the virus. They are more or less useless for preventing viruses. You are the best defense against viruses – don’t click on attachments from people you don’t know, don’t download questionable files, etc.
Turn off system restore.
Do a free online scan:

Good luck.
Your computer is infected with spyware.
Spyware is a program with the main objective of monitoring users activities. But it can also steal private information, install unwanted software, redirect browsers to other websites than the ones the user wants to visit or even displays advertisements.
You are infected with spyware if:
* You see too much pop-up advertisements.
* Your browser has toolbars that you haven’t installed.
* Your homepage has changed (and you can’t change it back).
* Other settings have changed without your permission.
* Your computer is slow.
To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you have to use an antispyware or even more. You can download free antispyware software from http://www.kiete.com/antispyware.html
use combination of avg,ad-aware,n spybot which u can download from download.com for free.
