My desktop PC has a nasty virus that won’t let me past a screen asking for a password. I do not have any password on it. Does anyone know of a good software I can buy and restore my system?

To be honest this sounds nasty enough to not bother restoring it and formatting the hard drive and doing a fresh install. That just sounds too heavy duty for me.
If you have anything important enough that it has to be saved try safe mode if that dosn’t work boot from your Windows XP disk and do a restore. That should "Fix it" so you can get your stuff but I would still do a fresh install after that.
