You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:
1. Virus-check your data files (not application files– you have installer CDs for those).
2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.
3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.
4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.
5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.
6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.
7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.
8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.
9. Reinstall your data files.
10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.
Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.
So, what do you do in the future?
1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.
2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.
3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.
4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.
5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.
6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.
7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.
Please adhere to the ‘dont’s’ I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.
Good luck!
Try avast.
You can try Microsoft’s security essentials, it’s free. This is the link

Malwarebytes. Removes both spyware and viruses. Best program on the face of the planet. period.
I would not follow that guy’s advice about reformatting your HD and reinstalling your OS unless you done absolutely EVERYTHING you can trying to remove the virus. Follow these steps. These programs will remove viruses, trogans, spyware, adware, malware etc.
I would NOT reformat unless you have done everything else. Here is how my job removes viruses.
Programs for free you download from internet: Combofix, Malwarebytes, Spybot
Run combofix : right click on combofix—> run as administrator —> let it run—> do not run any programs while its running
After that Run malwarebytes
Download malwarebytes —> update ——> run quick scan —> let it run —-> remove infected files —> it will automatically restart
Download Spybot —-> update —–> run —-> remove selected (stuff it found) —> restart
It should be clean. if None of these programs do NOT work, restart your computer in safe mode. and Run it from there.
You can download free virus removal tools from the web which work quite well. FreeAVG and AVAST are two as well as Microsoft Security Essentials. Any of them will remove whatever virus you might have. You can also download a free version of Malwarebytes which will get rid of spyware for you. I have used FreeAVG for years and just recently switched to Microsoft Security essentials and Malwarebytes.
Try Avria Anti-Virus
Hi!
Like somebody else just said, i’m recommending the Malwarebytes software (+ Avira Antivirus)

If it was my system, here is what I would do to help troubleshoot the issue and get rid of those spyware and adware. Many times even attempts to remove these programs fail through the program menu or control panel. Before starting the process below, terminate all programs you are currently running and empty your recycle bin. When you’re ready, go through the process below:
1 – Reboot your computer into Safe Mode
2 – Start>Run>%temp% and delete all files (hint: Hold the Shift Key while pressing Delete)
3 – Empty the Recycle Bin
4 – Start>Run>MSCONFIG and choose to Selective Startup and uncheck all except System.ini and Win.ini
5 – On the StartUp Tab, Uncheck All Items to prevent from loading. You will want to come back in later and recheck one box at a time, then reboot to help diagnose your startup and slow issues. It will usually be in this tab that many of bootup problems start and end. Finding the item and unchecking them will help you troubleshoot.
6 – On the Services Tab, Check Hide All Microsoft Services, then Disabile All.
7 – Reboot.
8 – After restarting (and logging in to Windows), a window appears confirming that "You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows starts." Click OK. The System Configuration Utility appears. Do not click OK here as this will prompt you to restart again. First try to reproduce the issue you were having.
9)Open up your registry. Export your registry and save it with a date like (32510) in a new folder under My documents called Registry
10)The key values will then need to be deleted under HKCU\HKLM SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENT VERSION\RUN
and these files in the Windows directory:
%UserProfile%\Local Settings\Application Data\[RANDOM CHARACTERS]\ (Win XP)
%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\\ (Win Vista & 7)
11)Close your registry and reboot your machine.
12) After you found and corrected the problem by deleting the program file location, deleting the registry key, modifying your services, then you’re ready to put your computer back to the normal state. To do that, go to Start>Run>MSCONFIG and select Normal Startup and reboot.
13)Update your virus software or get one and install it.
