I have a brand new Acer Aspire 3620 laptop. I bought it in early April. Every thing was fine until I booted up today. The start up menu and task bar which are normally on the bottom of the screen appeared on the right hand side vertically. I tried everything to get the menu and task bar to move back to the bottom of the screen but I can’t. By everything I mean I have gone into every program and file. I figured I could restore my computer back a few weeks. I tried and got the message "You cannot restore back to that date." (I’m using the dates that are in bold). I tried a number of different dates but I would get the same message everytime. Could this be a virus? Can I fix it? Thanks for any help you can offer.
I just wanted to thank everyone. My task bar menu is back to normal. It was all about finding the right spot and then clicking and dragging. Thanks.

Just keep clicking on the corner really fast, and keep moving your mouse and it will go back to place.

If you just bought it in April, you should have a warranty, right???

Click and drag to the bottom is the correct answer.
You also asked about the System Restore utility. You have to open up the application and configure it before it will work. Also, make sure you check the System control panel to confirm that it is turned on.

try changing your taskbar and editing your preferences…..

this has happen to me before and you just have to figureout how to move it by clicking on it and attempting to move it….

if you restart it it might even move on its own

Right click on some empty space in the tool bar,
un-tick ‘lock the taskbar’ , then drag the task bar to which ever position you want it. Then right click again and tick ‘lock the taskbar’to lock it in place.
