I bought a used laptop that had an antivirus software in it already.Every time I check the date it expres it says the same day I log on except next year.Like When I checked it on August it was supposed to expire august 2010.Now that I checked on Dec 2009 it says it now expires Dec 2010.Is this common cause I was getting ready to get a free antivirus once this one expired.
It’s CA Anti-Virus

Your Anti-virus is a perpetual one, if it is a good one, keep it, I know Norton and Computer Associates both do that, expire one year from today.

Yes, you should get a new one. Get a reputable antivirus and also antispyware too to make your computer protected from all the kind of spywares. Reputable programs are usually not for free but some of the unpaid ones can be also trusted. Just browse the forums.
